Method I found SN advertised as 99% pure on Amazon. How to check for quality?

is it important to test your sn to make sure its stated purity is legit? Or can you just take a higher dose (lets say 35g) to compensate for possible low purity sn? lets say its stated 99% but actually 60% purity, well 60% of 35g is still 21g which is still lethal.
