Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Anyone else not want a funeral? I know there isn't much I can do about it since I'll be dead but I hate the idea of a funeral for ME. I hate being the center of attention. I mean if I had my way the universe would just stop existing when I die, but that's even more selfish than not wanting a funeral. I guess if a funeral helps my family get over it then that's more important since I'll be dead anyways.

My mother requested no funeral, no obituary. The family respected that.

Oh I may actually do that then, but I don't know how important it would be to my family. I really hate the idea of people gathering around my dead body and pretending like we knew each other.

I don't want a funeral, no obituary, no notices of any kind. Anyone involved in my life will know and I just find it weird to have people that weren't involved in my life getting involved in my death.

But in the end, I'll be dead so it doesn't matter really.

If theres no body to bury then there is no funeral. Lots of people worry about their bodies after death but they forget that it's not theirs anymore when they die. It's for nature to swallow. If I ever do it I will dump myself in a body of water to sink below.

I don't want a funeral, nor any notices to anyone. But if someone did hold a funeral for me, I would consider it and anyone who attends as an insult to my life and memory.

I'm exactly the same. If possible I'd just like for nobody to even know I died, but the last thing I want is a funeral.

Yeah, same, when I'm gone I mostly just want it to be as if I never existed, no mourning, no remembering, just moving on and forgetting, I would like my body to be composted though, let my remains go back to nature

I also want no funeral service.
This is under UK law:
After death by default your body is the responsibility of your next of kin (family) to dispose of. They can do whatever they want funeral service wise. They don't have to respect any wishes of yours, although you can of course express these in writing or verbally before your death.
Alternatively you can make a formal Will and nominate an Executor (such as a solicitor/lawyer) who is then responsible disposing your estate/assets including arranging any funeral. You can specify your wishes for what happens to your body and your funeral service (including not having one, or excluding certain people) but again the Executor is not legally bound to follow your wishes, but in general they will if they are reasonable, doable and within the law (so not being shot up into the sky on a giant firework type of thing. I just made that up lol).
The solicitor did say to me that if I wanted to I could request for my family to not even be informed of my death in my Will, but I don't know how practical that would be assuming there would be some sort of police or coroners office report. I guess the normal thing would be for them to inform the next of kin/family of the death.
Personally I have requested what's known as a "direct cremation" with no funeral service in my Will.
Regardless, any family can arrange their own service of remembrance or similar with or without a body. Nothing you can do about that.
I guess the most important thing is to write your wishes down, or make them known somehow.
Thats weird in my culture they never do that. Thanks for the knowledge tho never actually heard of it.
As NearlyIrrelevantCake said, its normal to have a regular funeral when there is no body (in western culture at least). Lots of people's body is not recovered after death; disasters, lost at sea, etc.

It's costly too(in my culture at least), like what's the point of feeding people...

I feel the same. Always found the though very disturbing, especially since it is expensive and a lot of the involved people wait until your life is over to care. I want to remain just as invisible in death as I was while alive.

I have stated in my will that I don't want a funeral, I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered in the water of the estuary I used to sail on.

It is a cold and lonely stretch of water that is frequented by gulls and seals. A fitting place for my final resting place.

I intend to either prepay for a direct cremation or, instruct my solicitor to arrange one. Assuming I can hold off CTB till my Dad goes first. By that point, there won't be that many who would likely attend anyway and, I don't want them to feel obliged to travel miles and miles for some dry service.

Me too! I'd love my last days to be in a foreign country far away from europe(if i ever have the money to book a one-way trip there and the courage),and rest there a day-two and just CTB.

I think im romanticizing it but i just want my parents(dont have friends so idc about them) to think im living abroad so they dont worry about it,they are pretty old anyway so im not sure if their heart is too fragile to think about me dying.
