I know a lot of genuinely happy people, others not so much, but they're normal and healthy. I think they deserve to study, work, marry, have kids and live their lives to the fullest. I don't think death is even the problem, but suffering. If you take the example of floods and wildfires, there tends to be only a small number of fatalities, but the suffering is on a scale we can't even measure numerically.

The same is true behind suicide statistics. 800k per year (or whatever). Probably 20 times that number in failed attempts. Then another 100 times that number in serious contemplation. Then many times more again who repress feelings of this nature. It paints a pervasive 'life is suffering' picture with numbers.

I mean, personally, I'd rather animals be slaughtered the way they are. Because the alternative is doing it yourself, and, if anything, that'd lead to more suffering.

I'm playing devil's advocate. Anyone who knows me knows I hate life more than anything. And people.

But this guy isn't wrong. People are happy. They live happy lives. A lot of people said it here, but "us" suicidal people are the minority. Being suicidal isn't "seeing the truth". It's just hurting. That's all it is.

It's kind of fucked my world view though. I have absolutely no clue what life is. It's not hell because some people enjoy it, but it's not heaven because the other half of people are suffering. It's based on luck, but it's also not based on luck. I don't think anyone is reading this, but if you are, can you understand why I'm confused? Life isn't a thing.

And because of that, I don't think it's a good idea to say "Because I think life is hell, no one deserves to live".

Although, it would be nice if governments would implement a parenting license. There's way too many kids getting fucked by their parents - figuratively and literally.

Well, I understand where you're coming from, but there are people that are happy or at least content. We, as animals are programmed to find life exciting in general. But some of us were dealt a bad hand or were just plain unlucky or got sick. This place is not fair, I agree. Some will always be lucky and others will always be disadvantaged. To some this place is a hellhole, to others it's a paradise. I don't think it's our place to decide what's best for others, but I think we should be able to choose a peaceful exit for ourselves if we so please, without anyone trying to stop us.

I agree that it would be better if there was nothing, I find it horrific how life is even a thing in the first place, and how life continues to be brought here where unnecessary suffering will continue to be experienced and inflicted onto others. And yet despite this the world that we live in makes suicide as difficult as possible for us, trying to force us to stay here where all that we have to look forward to is the eventual deterioration from old age, it's all that we are destined for.

Those who wish to live and see life as being a positive thing overall must be delusional, if you think about it at any moment living beings all around the world will be being tortured in some way. As well as that it's disturbing how so many people are pro life and label those who wish to leave as always thinking 'irrationally'. It's irrational to want to exist in such a nightmarish world where everything is determined by chance with no limit as to how awful things can get. The suffering that exists in this world is very real and is undeniable.

There is no benefit to suffering, and to me it's certainly always better to not exist. All of us here have to pay the price because of other people's decisions to selfishly procreate. Nothing could ever justify bringing life here and yet it's so normalised. To die will always be the best thing possible to me.
