• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

We were never supposed to be so many, the truth is the only reason some people in modern times managed to reproduce is because reproduction is now seen as default, as something that will for sure happen. Whereas back then it wasnt guaranteed, maybe it was better that way.

Some people would be better off dead or to never have been born

Examples to actually prove this point. The Iran war. Without fertilizer the world population would be about 1 to 2 billion. 8 billion is insane

I've been thinking about this a lot because of the AI and automation stuff, along with oncoming tightening of everything caused by the oil shortage. There are only this many of us because the system needs to continue perpetuating itself, but what happens when we are suddenly not needed anymore? Will it just be years and years of the "mentally unfit" taking the inititative and voluntarily quitting before the people with real power step in to evaluate the situation and decide on what to do with the excess population?

I agree, especially as homelessness increases worldwide, there's just not enough room for everyone and we will "run out" of space in some way eventually...I imagine some will ctb because they feel they have to in order to escape their situation. It's terrifying to think about imo

The cause of unchecked population growth is capitalism, because it requires economic growth, and the economy can only continue to grow if there are ever more consumers. On the other hand, fewer and fewer workers are needed because more and more jobs are being done by machines and algorithms. In this way, capitalism is destroying itself. How this story ends is, in my view, completely open.
