i saw a video where they just hold it in front of a flame and it fires, but they say the bullet has almost zero power when it's done like that,
because apparently the pipe of the gun is what gives it power.

hypothetically, it would probably be much easier only getting a bullet, instead of both a gun and bullet.

these might be less informative

its pretty hard to find if theres any deaths/injuries relating to bullets alone since theyll always mention a gun. the bullet itself is dangerous depending on what u do with it though, no idea if its deadly. a lot of sites mention stray bullets but, those are fired from guns and mainly hit the wrong target, or if its a falling bullet from a gunfire.

No, the barrel is what creates the pressure and the velocity. You'd be more likely to suffer a nasty injury like take your eye out or something.

There are slamfire shotguns made with 2 steel pipes, but it's not advisable for this sort of purpose. This is not a method you want to mess up by trying something unreliable or experimental.

there are single-use 3D printed guns like The Harlot but they are of questionable reliability
