Rotting in a forest somewhere in Germany

I want to cover all possibilities - so if I was to get cold feet, or something gets in the way, while attempting my main method - a backup plan will probably ease my doubts a little.
I also thought about using it as my main method, though I couldnt find the old thread(s), so getting some more information about it/thoughts seemed like a good idea.
The plan would've been to; not sleep a day beforehand - go out to a sea/lake after midnight - drink a little -get in the water to wet the clothes - get out - drink the rest of the alc while listening to some tunes and then just wait/fall asleep
The only risk is being found, but after midnight nobody is really around in the winter,
So I'm curious why not more people seem to consider it as a method or if I missed something obvious!

Cheers :)

It's really hard to get really cold and not save yourself - trust me, I've tried. I think the key if you do this is to get black out drunk / take other medications to make you pass out and not wake up.

Otherwise, no matter how hard you try you'll wake up under the covers, in the sleeping bag, or wherever else gives you warmth.

You need to make sure that isn't an option and that you won't be capable.

I wasnt planning on taking anything with me that could warm me up and I also black out/ get drunk really easy. From what ive read and all those that seem to die from it by accident, it should be "easy" enough to replicate.

Alcohol is a vasodilator, it opens up your blood vessels near the skin and allows heat to escape rather than constricting and forcing it to your core.

You need to be out of it, otherwise it's uncomfortable (even when it isn't painful) and you'll want to find warmth.

It sounds like a solid plan, you just need to make sure that you black out and then the rest will work out as well. Be careful of your SI

That's also why I wanted to go in without sleep because it makes you quite tired if I recall correctly. So adding that, alc and all the other stuff, makes it look quite doable to me

It used to be my personal method #1. I think that alcohol, sleeping pills or benzos is a must - simply anything that knocks you out.

Having tried cooling myself to the point of numbness in a cold bath then laying in the cold, and then waking up under cover - I'd say that being blackout drunk or out of it on benzos or both is the most critical part of the equation.

Being unconscious is the key here.

Totally unconscious - it doesn't even have to be that cold, as BPE put it, one of her friends died of Hypothermia in the UK in July (i.e pretty warm) by falling asleep outdoors in the rain while knocked out with benzos and alcohol.

Get to that point and you can go at way above freezing point with no risk of losing limbs to frostbite

Sounds alright in theory, but I'll just throw this out there because I haven't seen anyone mention it... have you ever heard that sometimes people suffering from hypothermia will just take off all their clothes, despite it obviously making it worse? Paradoxical undressing...risk increases with age though.
I know nothing matters if you're already dead, I'd just personally feel icky knowing I might be naked lol

It's true, some people will undress, there's certain reason why but suddenly they feel hot and undress. Then they die.. Of hypothermia.

I've just done a bit more reading on it, really interesting actually and I feel awful for it but it does seem kinda funny (maybe my mind is just fucked up idk)

What's even weirder is after undressing, some people (~20%) will crawl into a tiny enclosed space, like a cupboard. Terminal burrowing behaviour. Suppose it might be a survival thing, body's just moving purely on instinct

You have the "gift" of a higher functioning brain and the disadvantage of a lower functioning "keep me alive" brain. The 2 conflict with each other. When you are dying your animal brain takes over and tries to save your life by digging a hole, while your thinking brain is saying "please kill me". The path to happiness is either being so dumb that your animal brain rules your thinking brain, or your thinking brain can overcome your animal brain, or ideally where the 2 can work together in harmony.

For most people the animal brain rules everything, Ugg Ugg feelings not thoughts

I wasnt really concerned with that because if at all it speeds the process up and if youre in a remote area it will take a bit until youre found. So yea def as mick said ; Being unconscious is key / a big help.

A couple of days ago I was accidentally freezing on mountain. The pain I felt in my hands was unbearable for me, I think I could do it only being totally unconscious. In theory is a good way to go though.

Hence the suggestion od alcohol/benzos/sleeping pills, or any combination of above.
