Hello, I am having trouble finding a substitute for Bonide Lime Sulfur Spray or any other product like it. Every place I looked to buy lime sulfur spray stopped selling it or is too far away and too expensive to get. I have found several Lime Sulfur Dips on Amazon that are used to treat animals I could possibly use instead. This products says it contains Sulfurated Lime Solution 97.8% Another similar product I found was lime sulfur meant for bonsai trees. This product says it contains 29% Lime Sulfur (Calcium Polysulfide).

I was wondering if anyone knows how well one of these will work instead of normal lime sulfur spray. I have seen the lime sulfur dip meant for animals be recommended once, but then another person said that it would not work. I don't want to buy it and have it fail.

I am planning on buying 64oz of whatever lime sulfur solution is best and 64oz of a toilet cleaner with 20% HCL. I am planning on properly sealing the vehicle I am mixing the solution in. I will also place warning signs around the car. The only thing I really need information on is if the lime dips on Amazon are OK to use. I would prefer to use the pet lime sulfur as I can have it delivered overnight.

Any help and information would be very appreciated, thank you.

All the supplies arrived now. Going to mix a little bit in a cup or something to test it out. I don't want to fail and get interrupted, so I'll be waiting until late at night. I also won't message anyone to say goodbye before. I think I have more than enough of the two products to be successful.

I was wondering if anyone had info if Sulfur dust mixed with the Works toilet bowel cleaner to create the deadly gas. If so what amount. Any other info how to create hydrogen sulfide would be great

Hydrogen Sulfide (h2s) is certainly lethal at sufficiently high concentrations, so in that sense this method is foolproof. The problem is, I think, that it is difficult to calculate the expect concentration of h2s from mixing household products. The information on the labels may be misleading or insufficient.

A much better way to carry out this method is, imho, to find the pure chemicals, calculate the expected h2s produced, test the reaction in practice to check speed and other possible unexpected issues, and then, when actually executing the method, to do the reaction producing at least 50% (I'd go 500%) more than what you'd actually need.

There are much easier suicide methods, why these overcomplicated methods?

I think that's because the h2s method has the appeal of causing fast loss of consciousness (within a few breaths). Then there's also the (supposed) easiness of being a method you can perform by just mixing two common household products. Many people have successfully ctb'ed by doing simply that inside a car (You can google countless cases). But I personally find that last bit risky.

Why avoid it? What happened? Please share if it's a safety message it would be appreciated.

Name two please.
You said "much easier methods".
What's easier than mixing two chemicals in a bucket?
(and making a few signs of course)

There is a resources megathread with plenty of links. In terms of easier, SN would be one that comes to mind. While slightly more mechanically difficult, I don't think inert gas is all that challenging, and I view both as more peaceful, inert gas much faster, and both infinitely safer to others. Despite the uninformed opinions, while extremely high concentrations can of h2s can technically cause a fast loss of consciousness, tests performed by the San Diego fire department clearly demonstrate that even with extremely high starting ingredients, the time to reach these concentrations in a car is nothing close to instant.

Iron sulphide (FeS) + HCl also produces H2S. I used to make this when I was a teen (I studied chemistry) and had my own little lab.

You make valuable points especially regarding speed of gas accumulation after the mix.

And since I don't know what SN is anyways, looks like it's back to the drawing board.

I still wonder how much time it would take though and how much it would take to get the job done.

Are we talking a few minutes here?
