Yes, so true. We're an odd species. We'll even sometimes support people in their race to the grave via alcoholism, smoking, eating junk food because- we can't impede on those choices- slow death is ok. Fast death isn't.

Plus- where assisted suicide is available- the conditions to meet it are kind of perverse in a way... Well- you are suffering- yes- but- not enough. Maybe come back when things have gotten even worse for you- if you can that is. By that point- the person may actually be too ill to travel.

I always cringe everytime i see parents advocating their children died "for their country" when they in fact died for corrupted politicians, greedy military complex and oil companies.
How America marketed patriotism to make it look like a normal if not ethical thing to do to send your kids to war is beyond me.

Preach it! Pro choice all the way. It's humane. There should be dignified ways for one to end there life. Existing isn't for everyone and not everyone wants to live to see 70.

It's absolutely inhumane to deny people the option of a dignified suicide, and all the horrible ways in which human beings can cease existing is why it comes across as insane to me when people want to restrict suicide method options.

I mean those people have to die eventually someday as well, do they really want to be tortured in their last moments and die a slow, painful death without a peaceful escape to avoid prolonged suffering. Having the option of a peaceful suicide would be the best thing possible in a world filled with endless potential for harm and torment where we are destined to decay and lose everything. The prison that is existence truly is hell, humans shouldn't be expected to be slaves to their suffering until they die anyway.

So true. And so strange when you really think about it, because bottom line is we all die!! Why is there more virtue in dragging it out and suffering, than cutting it short when the quality is gone?

In 2022, the estimated number of deaths from AIDS in South Africa reached 85,796. This was lower compared to the previous year when the AIDS related deaths in the country reached nearly 88,000

Definitely.. it's insanity to prefer to die peacefully in a hospital, we need to be normal and spin the wheel of surprise death with barely any acceptable options.

Wait for your horrendous end and suffer in silence, so we can all pretend that life is beautiful. It's not our sanity that must be questioned.

When I went on my camping trip in the mountains the entire forest at night lit up with fire flys. It was like a natural Christmas. I could see the fire flys all around me, I was in a flat meadow of flowers and I swore that if any moment was right to exit out , it was then. I had my nine in the cabin and my wife was near by. I swear to god if it wasn't for that I'd blow my brains out on some benzos. It was the most peace I'd felt in years. Next time I'm going alone. Nearest hospital is hour away. No way would I make it. To think, they want me to suffer or grow old when I had a beautiful and CHOSEN opportunity to end it. Sorry for such a negative post I'm just in my feelings right now.
