If this is a Monty Python reference, well done. If not...um, you just kind of quoted Monty Python without trying, which may be even more impressive.

As anyone can tell from my posting history, I was marginally active for a while and then became much less active on the forums. It wasn't because of a negative experience; even though I am lucky to have a great therapist and a somewhat helpful medicine from my psychiatrist, this site fills a gap they can't handle. The one time ctb came up with in a real-life conversation, I spent four days in a mental health facility. So, that's out.

I come here to remember there are other people like me, even though we all have our own unique problems. That, in and of itself, makes me feel...not so alone. Thank you all for that.

Not sure how I feel about about how young a lot of the posters are… feel I can't relate as I've given life a fair shot and it just gets shittier… wish I pulled the trigger a long time ago and spared me from this shit

You're as old as you feel, age ain't a pre-requisite yeah. I get u tho...
Maturity is different, there are some wise ancients amongst us, you must be patient
[we wander past really slowly (zimmerframes), and are well camouflaged, kinda like wildebeest in the bush!]
I dig the youngsters tho :: SI isn't ageist, i don't see why should we be?!
I teach irl, so I value their input, while avoiding the trickiest of the times they struggle thru... (...and they update the music thread something stupendous!)

Oh for sure. I'm not trying so sound ageist. All input is important. Sometimes I just feel I connect better with conversation with someone my age. I don't mean to say the younger folk "give it a shot for awhile, it might get better!" Because a lot of things will NEVER get better. I know this because my trauma and health issues were always there and I could have save myself a lot of years of suffering. Man, if could just fight SI I could avoid many more. I should check out that music thread :)

Comforting and supportive. I'd recommend this site over any suicide hotline. This place can really help someone rethink and decide what is the best decision for their life.
