I've been mostly offline for a few years and am just returning. Is this place still somewhat secretive, or has the word gotten out about the website?

some news websites have made articles about it but there is only one youtube video i could find about it, and it didnt even refer to the exact name of it. i think its still pretty underground, i dont see any discussion of it on most of the internet. theres definitely more people lurking on it and more accounts. hell i was a lurker for years until i made an account recently. if it were more mainstream it would probably be shut down by now.

When I first found this site, it used to appear on Google, but Google shadowbanned it along with other search engines. I've even seen a big YouTube channel talking about this site.

Your latter point is how I ended up finding this site myself. I believe at least one other YT video was made, but they appear taken down now. As for search results, this website only comes up on the second or third page for me if I attempt searching it up.

I was in a discord server and friends were talking about it, so that's how I found myself here. Dunno if my friends are just weird or if it's truly getting more popular

I'm guessing more people in the UK are aware of the forum now after the channel 4 documentary came out last year. At least that's how I found out about it. The name of the forum isn't mentioned in the video but it was easy enough to find.

I was talking about this place with some internet friends, and I don't think they knew of Sasu's name, but they've heard of the existence of such a forum when I told them about the pushback from the British government.

SS is mostly known for being a "pro suicide" cult, where veteran users coax newcomers into killing themselves and offer their remains to a demon from the underworld realm, who has been dormant for the last 1,000 years, but only recently awoke with the intention of spreading corruption across the entire earth surface and sewing terror for centuries to come. Courtesy of mainstream news. I'm glad that others are finally finding out about our great demon cult.

I'm pretty open about the fact that I use this forum to mental health workers, and none have said that they have heard of it

Knowing about it doesn't require browsing the site, though. Sasu was profiled in various mainstream news sources, and it might be something that people in the mental health system were in the know about due to patients or word of mouth

I didn't expect to pull up a video about a "death cult" from Turkey Tom and literally 6 seconds in I immediately recognized that it was SaSu he was mentioning. Bro my heart sank and I damn near spilled my soup over. Haven't been on this site in like 6 months as I left this site in my past. I'll do what I can to support this place because I know more coverage equals more problems, especially on the social media-side of things, let alone the already existing but persistent pressure from news outlets and governments. Mannnnnnn

LOL now there's another one on that list of big YouTubers and he's reeling off that boost of engagement he got from his BWC controversy or whatever

I don't understand where that reputation even came from. This is arguably the only place on the internet where you can find people in the same situation as you 🫤

You'd really have to go looking for it (Tantacrul Streisand-induced searching included) in most cases in order to find it. Of course that video has millions of views, but when taking the rest of the Internet into account, people don't seem to talk about this place very much. When you search "suicide forum" on Twitter, for instance, you'll usually only find the occasional 30-something blue check making a one-off mention to the existence of this website without ever naming it, paired with some comment about how the kids are not alright. Then they'll never bring it up again.

Actually, I am not sure whether this forum becomes more or less known to the mainstream. It is probably in a middle position right now. I would say the NYT article and the tantacrul video brought a lot of attention to this site. Even though, smaller outlets have reported on this forum the censorship increased.

I think for a big part it's a sort of a 'darkweb' thing, where a lot of people have heard something about some forum where they encourage people to die (Which is of course false) but in terms of actually directly knowing, I assume the number isn't that high, and it's still rather niche. There are 2 videos that I can find by big channels on youtube, but they don't mention it directly, but it ain't hard to find out more from those videos, so it sends more traffic.

Sasu will keep having waves when something happens, media gets involved, youtuber makes a video and then people lost interest in the outrage and find something else to bitch about.
