I ordered Meto from a source that was recommended to me but I haven't been able to fact check myself. I want to make sure it's the real stuff and effective before using it with SN.

I looked through the forum and there's plenty on testing SN but not much regarding testing the antiemetic. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge of a good approach I could take to make sure it will work?

I'm not sure you can test it for authenticity because if it's just a placebo how could you know? I'm unaware of any testing kits for this medication. Most people take around 10mg to test if it gives them tardive dyskinesia, which is a movement disorder that causes a range of repetitive muscle movements in the face, neck, arms and legs that are beyond the person's control. Taking benadryl will relieve the symptoms so have some ready if you do test it.

Fromd what I understand if you do get tardive dyskinesia, which is very dangerous beause it sometimes never stops, that benadryl in liquid form needs to be in jected into the arteries- a medicala expert, which I am not, recently did post about this on this site. Td happens in rare cases, and it usually takes at least 20mg to start it. The risk of td is a good reason to not test it before the attempt, though, because the risk can increase the more you take it. It happens in less than 1% of cases, but if you look at td videos on youtube you can see how terrifying this condition is.

Wow i didn't know that. However the recommended 48hr schedule like has you build up antiemetics by taking them in advance. I was planning on doing this for effectiveness so I guess this is just a risk I have to take. I would rather risk this by taking it early then risk not being effective with Sn ya know?

That's a judgement call. The side effect called tardive dyskinesi so so severe that I have decide to go the other route, Td does happen in less than 1% of cases, but when it does happen it is so severe. I will post a link from one video on youtube of a woman who took 20mg two days in a row so you can see what happened. It is less than 1% of the time, the odds are really on your side, but when it does happen it is so sever that I am going the other route- I'll probably try 10mg at a time and watch for side effects and I might stop at 20mg if there is even the slightest sign of any of the known side effects of meto. Do we know that the 48 hour regimen is more effective? I'm not sure. I still might take Meclizine instead. You probably would want to read the comments on the video as well. S9me peopl reverse the effects with Bendryl, sometimes it doesn't work to use this. For the lady in this video symptoms started 24 hours after the first dose. This is the reason I will avoid the 48 hour regimen. It is less than a 1% chance- but no one knows if they will have this reaction or not. AnOther td from meto video follows. Actually it wouldn't let me post this link- iyt woudln't worked, but she was spasming all over the place really badly. If you search youtube by meto tardive dyskinesia you will find other videos. It's a judgement call- the question is- is the 48 hour regimjen more efffective? Is it worth the risk? It's a judgement call.
