Obviously, your friends IRL will know

But I am sure many of us have friends in online games and forums.

While some are nothing more than acquaintances, others I have known for years. And because of the things we talk about, I do value their friendship a lot, even if I don't know their names or even what they look like.

If you don't tell them, they may never know. All they will assume I have ghosted them.

I have a few friends on these sites that know my intentions. And one or two have agreed to tell my most important online friends what happened.

It's the best way I think to reach out to my online friends.

I have already written the emails.

What are your opinions?

Just update your gaming-platform/in-game bio before CTB, no?

If I am doing that, I am basically creating a goodbye string - which I don't plan to do. Or i'd qet questions, if I didn't carry through like "why are you not dead?"
If you are dead why does it matter?
True our desires are based on before death. True if I am dead, I am just compost.

I already started messaging my friends on discord, they don't know me irl, so they can't prevent anything

I wrote to my friends on telegram and moved the date of sending the message to the date when I would be already dead so that they would know everything that I wanted to tell them but did not say directly

That's interesting. How do you feel they respond to something that may happen in the future?

Scheduled emails

You need to be CAREFUL not to hit the wrong button and send in real time though. This is a big risk

That is true - and you need to remember what places you wrote the emails. SO if you decide not to CTB, you can remember where they are.
On the other hand, this forum has delayed posting - which is good. I am not keen on doing a goodbye thread

How far in advance did you set the messages for?

Some are like don't do it, some are like it's your choice

Wou;ld you say your closer friends say Don't do it?
I haven't told any of my irl friends, but it's a natural response to say don't do it

If you really want to send them a goodbye message, write an email ready and have it scheduled to send for a certain date. If you fail your attempt, you can stop the scheduling and it won't get sent out.
That being said, I wouldn't do this at all. I'd rather my online friends think I went innawoods or something more positive than having them start their day with "hey man, i'm killing myself". Normal people aren't as jaded as us and wouldn't appreciate it, truth be told.
