hi all!
i am terrified of going out alone, no matter where i'm going or what i'm going to do. i'm currently sitting in my bedroom and craving a walk but unable to go because of social anxiety. i truly don't want to spend the day pacing around the house.
does anyone relate? how do you deal with this?

Just don't look at anyone, treat people as endermen. I try to just look at the pavement or at my phone when I'm outside, works for me. Also if you want a place to walk around in, try finding a park which doesn't have a lot of people in it, you won't have social anxiety if there are no people around you.

A clear objective might help.

That way you have an excuse both to be where you are, and to disengage from social interaction.
You don't owe anyone else that excuse. It's just for you to focus on something other than walking around, worrying about whatever your anxiety think you ought to worry about.

Maybe go out to take 5 good pictures of crows (clear objective)?
It tells you where to go, how to behave, and when to go back.

Not looking at anyone truly is the way. I taught myself to do that when I was a kid. Before then, I used to look at everybody and they'd obviously be looking back at me cuz that's kinda what people do. But it bothered the shit out of my anxiety, so eventually I just learned to stop looking at people. If they're looking at me, I won't know/look like I don't care. My anxiety has gotten a little better over time and that definitely helped.

For OP, you might not notice an immediate difference cuz your anxiety will be psyching you out and making you paranoid about how everyone's still looking at you even if you're not looking back. But trust me, over time it helps a lot. In my experience anyway, you just start to not care as much.
