The truth is, the answer to that question is going to vary, person to person. It depends on why you're drinking, what "need" or "want" alcohol is fulfilling for you (need for community/soothing loneliness? Unhappiness and dissatisfaction with life? Boost of confidence or easing of anxiety? etc, etc), how you could fulfill that need with alcohol, what your driving motivation is for wanting to stop...........
There's no one-size-fit-all solution, though it can still help to get advice/insight from other addicts. We often share common struggles/needs. Maybe try out some common suggestions, and meanwhile try and introspect, think of what ways, even tiny ways, you can improve your health and your life.
(To use myself as an example; my life was absolutely miserable, I was living in squalor and chaos. I felt like an animal trapped in a filthy cage, so of course I was drinking constantly to escape it. But recently, I cleaned my apartment, organized everything, and put up some small decorations. It sounded so meaningless, so stupid before I did it....... but I swear, afterwards I've felt so much more alive, and the urge to drink has lessened a lot. It didn't solve my deeper problems, but if those are too big to deal with, especially while sober...... then focusing on tiny improvements might help.)
