  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I want to get rid of my fear of death. i find my existence as disgusting at best and something i dont want to live with, yet im too afraid of death to take my own life. as fucked up as it sounds, I look up to people who have attempted suicide because of their bravery and I wish i could do the same. i can no longer with live with myself, yet im too cowardly to do anything. i want to get over this fear so that I can hopefully finally end it

From experience, death is great! It's the dying part that sucks. And no matter how much you prepare, that survival instinct is always going to be there, even if it's just a whisper.
The best thing you can do is try to make peace with that. If you find a way to eliminate that fear, please let me know!
Honestly, I think even non-suicidal people could benefit from overcoming that fear.

In my opinion, it's not about thinking but doing. A lot of people, including myself, try or have tried to think themselves into it, but it's impossible. I think if someone's serious, the way to go is: 1) practicing and rehearsing the process, the setup, 2) actually starting to make final arrangements (goodbye letters, cleaning, etc.), 3) watching gore videos to desensitise and reduce fear. Things like that... Obviously, the person needs to acquire the accessories, find a location, etc., which is also, in essence, doing stuff.

These might still not help, and the person still might not be able to pull the trigger in the very last moments – but what I've realised is that if I just keep thinking about it, then I'm definitely not going to get there, ever.

What's interesting is that doing things in preparation also makes me realise the seriousness of my intent, and can trigger intense fear – which, in turn, makes it possible to deal with and push through those fears.

That's really interesting. I'll focus on that.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I think you're talking about survival instinct. Mine is so great that I've just given up for dying anytime soon. I'm sure life will beat me down enough till I one day overcome my survival instinct. I presume the same thing will happen with you if you live long enough and suffer long enough. So probably you're just going to have to wait.
