I remember, when we buried my father it cost us thousands. We're still in deep debt because of it, his grave doesn't even have a headstone— just a pathetic ring of wood, with no name on it...

How do I make sure this won't happen again?
Do I spend my last years slaving away, simply to save up for my own death?
Or do I ensure that my body is never found?

Is that even possible..?

I wish my family didn't spend money on me, too. Just throw me in the sea, please. Or take my body out into the woods so no one can find it. I'm so upset that after death, I will cause trouble for my family. I have money, but to spend it on my funeral is very stupid and unwise.

I am planning to die via accidental death. It would help my family to get insurance money and their financial burden would ease significantly after that. I would be and I am causing more pain to my family by being alive.

Planning has started and very soon I would execute the same. Everyday which I am living is a burden on everyone (family and friends). Hopefully my death would ease everyone's pain and give them closure.

I just want to be put in a box and burnt. Fortunately I have enough in savings to cover that. I'd be really peeved if my parents held a ceremony for me. I don't want that at all.

Be wary of thinking you can avoid being a financial burden by just wandering off into the woods and your body never being found.
Without a body, you're just a missing person. Huge logistical headache for your loved ones. What do they do with your financial and legal legacy if they can't prove you're dead? For example, to close down a bank account or to right off a debt, you need a death certificate. No body, no death certificate. In my country it costs the equivalent of around $10,000 to get a "presumption of death" certificate, and it's also presumably a long and drawn out process involving lawyers.

I think the best you can do is make your body easily findable and identifiable, with a clear cause of death, and clearly a suicide. Perhaps you can sell some possessions in advance to give to your family to help cover funeral costs.

It sucks we live in such a bureaucratic nightmare world where we can't even go and die in peace and privacy, there's always some sort of paperwork and financial burden attached.
