read somewhere that obsidian is really sharp and was wondering if there was a way to acquire an already sharp piece. wanted to try something unconventional for once

If you pour a bucket of water over lava you should get plenty of obsidian, as long as you have a diamond pickaxe on hand.

Okay lol serious answer: I'm really not sure how sharp it is. But if you wanted to find obsidian you could find some around various volcanic fields. Do you live near any extinct/inactive volcanoes? Apparently there might be some obsidian deposits in west USA.

Obsidian is essentially volcanic glass. You can find it outside of your live near a volcanic area or at a shop that sells gems/rocks. Sharpening it is a little difficult because like glass, it can break easily with no defined cleavage planes.

I am in the Ohio area... pretty sure that's not Western unless I did my" Never Eat Soggy Waffles" wrong...
p.s. soggy waffles are where its at...!
