I have 100's of dvd's & blu ray's … not much vhs other than stuff I recorded. I still have a dvd/vcr. I used to record things on vhs that I wanted to save. I can't really save much on a dvr and if they need replaced you lose everything anyway. :'( I don't think you can buy blank vhs tapes anymore. I haven't really tried though.

Yeah ... they are around but not like they were a decade ago. I do see vinyl ... even at Best Buy and Wal-Mart. I don't get why people want vinyl.
I like cd's so I can listen to them in my car. I don't really listen to them in the appt. (Sometimes in the shower, I have a little cd player for that)
I usually turn on the music channels on cable or listen to music online. I don't think I will be tempted to buy any more cassettes.

Sorry to everyone that i derailed this thread a little.

Vinyl sounds better than CD that`s why , i hated the sound of Cd`s when they 1st came out .
I recently bought a Rega turntable and had forgot just how good they sound compared to my cd versions , shame i sold my expensive Teac gold series Hi-Fi and only have my Technics one now although it is very good sounding with class H tri amp ,surround sound and 5 disc DVD player, it just looks dated and not classy looking
I like Hi fi`s hate this modernt Mp3 player stuff , i like the occasion of playing an album not just pressing shuffle lol
Quite a few CD`s are now being re-released on vinyl now

I don't know if I could tell the difference or not between listening to a CD or Vinyl if someone played them and I couldn't see which was playing at the time.
I won't be investing in a turntable … I hope I'm not here by the end of the year. I haven't had the guts to do it yet.
I know MP3s don't sound as good as CD's. I think it may depend on the quality of the of the MP3.

Shocked that I'm 48. Never thought I'd make it past 22 or so although I till feel im around that age. 45 should have been the end but like the rest of my life the only thing I succeed at is failure (although I had extremely good work ethic haha).

Agreed about the MP3s. The new album I bought on CD versus the same songs I downloaded sound better on the CD. Can hear the bass, guitars and drums substantially better. I decided one last album wouldn't do any harm but I wouldn't bother with vinyl, either. Too expensive and pointless considering ctb.

A decade ago? Here I was remembering the late 80s/early 90s :haha: (indeed, we might want to stop yammering about the past so this thread remains on topic, haha.)

I didn't know TDK made fishing rods. :)):)):)) Seriously though... I bought a used car that had a cassette player. I had to record cd's that i liked to listen to in it. I eventually bought a cassette adapter for it to listen to CD's or an I Phone.
Do you still have one of these ??? :ahhha::ahhha::ahhha:

It looks like they are still around but they don't manufacture cassettes anymore.

TDK used to manufacture an extensive portfolio of magnetic and optical media, including several formats of videotape and blank CD-R and recordable DVD discs until the recording business was sold to Imation in 2007.

THANK you so much for doing this research on TDK! I appreciate that!

You're Welcome … but I didn't work that hard. I let google do all the work. :)) All I did was cut & paste. :smiling:

Im almost 20 too. Maybe i will kill myself at 20, maybe a few months later, or years, but certainly not later than 30. Especially if nothing improves, or even gets worse.

I broke many cases trying to open the damn things!
Right?!! Same here! It was a mission getting those open. I still have all my CD's I don't know what to do with them?
Late 40s and mystified that I've made it this far.
I hear that. I'm 45 -didn't think I'd get to this age but I won't get to my 50's.

34.

Like so many others have said, the past 15 years or so don't feel like they've counted for much. I feel stuck at 19. 19-20 is when it all went to shit for me. I'm trying to get back there, at least mentally, but I'm slowly (embarrassingly) realizing how Herculean of a task that is. And just look at me! No Hercules. What's more strange is the constant reaffirmation I get about how much younger I look in real life. Seems flattering, but it usually tends to alienate me from most people.

I'm 28, I've answered this already I thought; but my post count dropped from like 215-220 to 198. It's fitting in a way.

About 18. I realized that my happiness in living rested upon my deceiving myself, being absorbed inside fantasy or work, or simply being an ignorant child. I quit, because I can't be content in pretense anymore.
