How many years have you been taking benzodiazepines? As it is a drug that is recommended to be used with caution due to its addiction, it is normally administered for a few weeks. Well, I've been 18 straight. Maybe I had 2-month withdrawal periods but the anxiety always returned despite the other antidepressant medications.

I am quite scared of benzos. I always try to be a say no to drugs guy. They work extremely good to reduce anxiety and i witnessed an increase of taking them (Tavor). But still i am taking them rather seldom. The withdrawal symptoms can be horrible pain. I had too much pain in my life, i just want to avoid that. But who doesn't...

Benzos are needed to make a lot if not all drug suicide methods peaceful. The long acting benzos are even more important in this regard than the short acting. But the best method uses both short and long acting benzos.

You don't have to be afraid of them but I do respect them, that is, take them when needed. The problem is that I always had panic attacks when I took them off, so they would prescribe them again. I only went 1 month without them and it took me almost two months to give them up, but it was a time that I did not work and I could afford to go through the withdrawal syndrome. If you reduce them little by little, it is annoying because it causes insomnia, you are irritable, you have more anxiety, etc. But sport helped me. Once I had stress again and relapsed they sent them to me again. The problem is that I mix them with alcohol and I don't notice anything either.

Yes, in my mind it is to mix diazepam and zolpidem before CTB but only to relieve the nerves with SN and to be able to fall unconscious before. The problem is, I have no antiemetics and no legal way to get them. Not even a relative who could lend me some with an excuse. The doctor takes care of me because I already had an attempt and he knows that I am suicidal, but here they do not admit you to the hospital unless you are psychotic or do it voluntarily. I have already been and it was not a good experience.

they only should be used for 2,3 weeks! not months or years!

I still have this annoying headpressure and sometimes I wake up with tachardia and a unpleasant feeling.

ps I consumed Valium for 3 months, i am in the 15 month now

and please the length of withdrawal is very individual!

I have sleeping problems and have used the sleeping pills Propavan for ten years, Stilnoct for four years, but I have stopped with Stilnoct because of side effects. I have no mental health problems, the sleep and the circadian rhythm have been disturbed for many years because of noice from neighbors, traffic noise and timekeeping from the surroundings,

Y'all are being prescribed benzos? Every psychiatrist I've had since high school has consistently refused to prescribe them to me and its a shame because alprazolam is the only anti-anxiety medication I remember actually working during the short interval I was given it.

I've never been able to have them prescribed, which is infuriating, as a poster above mentioned, you need them for any OD attempt to be peaceful.

Its idiotic Then you take benzo against your anxiety. After a while your brain creates tolerance, your anxiety come back and you have to take higher doses of benzos.

I've always avoided benzos but now that I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving soon I'm on everything you can name. I just don't care anymore.

I have been taking for 4 years. It's the only thing that works for me so I have no regrets. The addiction is hard though, quickly needing higher doses to work. But not taking is just going back to my chaotic state.

I've been taking Klonopin since 2004.

I'm ready with a plan, I'm packed up, and ready to go. At any minute I choose.

Since this has happened, I've been taking more Klonopin....and since I'll be ctb anyway, so what if I develop a tolerance to it ha I'm noticing it is less effective since my plans were completed. Maybe my normal anxiety is even higher (?)

Why are the doctors stupid @Ch92921 ?
If you believe your benzo withdrawal will last just some months after taking it for years, then your very naiv.
If you believe your benzo withdrawal will last just some months after taking it for years, then your very naiv.
I know some people who took benzos for years and then went through withdrawal:

One woman tapered it off for 10 months then she had withdrawal symptoms for another 3 months

One woman taper it off 12 months and had Symptoms for another 12 months

One woman had taken it for 9 years, her withdrawal lasted 19 months

One guy, who took it for 6 years, had to go for 36 months through withdrawal hell

Another guy who took Xanax for 4 years, had also to go for 36 months through withdrawal hell.

Was prescribed clonapazem 0.5 upto 4 times daily by the local crisis team as a short term measure to support me through a very difficult time last year ! They did nothing so I was taking 2mg daily with no effect. I thought that if I stock piled the meds it would allow another option.
stopped taking them in September last year and been collecting the prescription monthly ever since.

Where in my post did l mention anything about tapering off? And who the hell are you calling naive! Your entitled to your opinion but do me a favour and keep it to yourself! "Ignored"!!!

Bought a box and took them all within a week and a half.. that was enough to know I can't be trusted with them. Made things 100 times harder for myself.

I am tempted to get some more though to try and stop drinking.

It's sad that you want to stop drinking while you're using them. I love to take my Benzo's and drink at the same time. It was an awesome buzz. I've been on Clonopin for the last 13 years. But I did stop drinking eventually.
