Long story short, encountered a real weirdo that wanted to pact. ( Not that I'd ever pact anyway ). I dont want to add detail but he wanted to be the one to do it after me including dismembering my body afterward. Has anyone else had similar requests to this. Obviously I just blocked him and forgot his existence. But it would seem likely that a serial killer that had a set of standards, would target people that already plan on dying.

I'm sure there are killers, rapists, etc. who target suicidal people, since they would be "easy prey." There are people who post fake job postings on Craigslist to find people to kill.

By the way, Matt, if that's your real photo, I would recommend changing it. If someone who knows you found this site, you could get sent to a psychiatric hospital.

Double recommend.

A simple 'Search Google for image' on your picture, gives what seems at first glance way too much personal info than needed for a malicious person just passing by to know exactly who you are, contact relatives, authorities.

Speaking of avoiding creeps, and there are so many on the web, why risk it like that I have no idea.

Had a Eugene (birdman reference) send me child porno while talking about methods.

Rule #1: Don't pact with strangers

Rule#2: If you must, know them well online before proceeding. Make sure you don't miss any red flag.

Sounds like something you should have... passed along to a moderator or something

I never got why people want to do pacts anyway. The last thing you want to do when committing suicide is to introduce the biggest possible wildcard, i.e. another person. People, if you just want a friend, say so, don't mask it with this "suicide pact" nonsense!

I can understand the desire behind pacts. Dying isn't easy, and most people don't want to die alone. There's an inherent sadness whenever we hear a news story about some old forgotten person who died alone without anyone noticing.

That being said, I bet that only a very small number of pacts end up working out. If I ever had a pact, it would have to be with someone I'm already been friends with in real life (I do have a couple friends who are veterans and have mentioned CTB because of PTSD) or with someone I've known online for at least a few years.

Most people do suicide pacts because they can't obtain the things they need to end their lives. I don't think there is anything wrong with doing suicide pacts if you know what you are doing. I would never do one because it's really hard for me to trust the people I know so it's impossible for me to trust the people I've never known.

I wouldn't mind making a pact with a serial killer. As long as they kill me. What is scares me is the possibility of making a pact with something worse than a killer: A rapist. I am frail and wouldn't be able to fight back. Thankfully, I have no desire for a pact. I was born alone, I will die alone.

See, that is the thing... Everyone dies alone.

If a plane with 200 people aboard crashes, and everyone dies, every single person in the plane died alone.

I am not saying wanting to make pacts is wrong or anything like that. I am just really challenging the idea of "dying together", I suppose.

I desperately want to CTB with a "teammate" and until now, I had never really thought of this. But you mentioning veterans and PTSD just made it click. I think that's a large part of it for me. The nobody left behind thing. Dying alone terrifies me, and I think this somehow factors into my mindset. But I couldn't just meet a stranger in a hotel room and go through with it. It would have to be someone I got to know first, a true "teammate." Making the leap together.

Hmm, killer as a suicide 'partner' sounds interesting. As long as method is agreed on, why not? Nothing wrong with someone else having use of my death.

Very scary. As if being suicidal weren't enough. Everywhere you turn, there are predators. Yet something else compassionate governments could help out the terminally depressed or suicidal with...

By the way, Matt, I really like your chosen public photo.

Yeah, I never really understood how theses pacts are supposed to work. Like you just meet some new person and then CTB together? To each his own, but it would feel sort of weird for me.

"Hi Jim, I'm Bob."
"Hi Bob, nice to meet you."
"So what's up?"
"Not much. Ready to die?"
"Yeah, hold on, I need to take a piss first."
"Alright, I'll get the nitrogen ready."

lol

:pfff:Rick and Morty fans, anyone? I'm gonna go take a quick shit.

Seriously though, subtract the first two lines, someone I've gotten to know, and that works for me.
