Surprisingly, I still have one! We don't talk too much about ctb but everytime we do, we just have fun and even laugh at it because he also thinks that life is sh*t.
He's my only friend and also my student! (a great one btw)

I've actually got lots of friends, though there are very few I truly relate to though but I can still count on the rest in other ways even though a lot of them hate each other yet they all act very pro-lifey.

My ex that's been silently beside me for years and more knowingly beside me these past few years (would have been nice if he told me sooner ). A friend I met online, she's like family and I can't wait for covid to be over so we can meet and hang out. And a friend.... They're a couple friends, like couple dates kind of thing. She needs me right now and I know this but I've got my own shit and I just can't.... I wish I could be but I can't even handle the 'good morning' from my grampy... I feel like a horrible friend/granddaughter/wife

Only you, my SS fellows! Finding a haven for like-minded individuals is the best thing that has ever happened to my life. However, if this is real-life we're talking about, then I've got absolutely no one. I'm strangely comfortable with it, though.

Genuine friends that are close? Virtually none; not anymore, and not for a long time - we are not on good terms, or rather no terms at all. Attempts were made get back in contact with others that were once close, and it was actually successful. The issue is that those friendships are not as strong as they were, and at this point they seem superficial since communication is rare even still. Plus they seemed to have moved on anyway.

The only few people that I have in my life right now - real life - are acquaintances, and this might sound horrible but I do not want them to know me personally. I only see them because I do not have a choice. I am surrounded by people that I have absoloutely no connection to, it is like being alone in a crowd - like a ghost.

In some ways it can hurt more having friends than not. It has taken me many years to get to the point of not feeling a tearing sensation in my guts from hearing about what my friends have been doing with their lives whilst I have been able to do so little with mine.

Two in real life. I've known the one since we were born basically and we are practically siblings. I've known the other since high school.

It's a very surface level friendship. I haven't talked to either of them in months. We just meet up once in a while and go to the bar and chat about surface level stuff in life and then go our separate ways. I do still consider them genuine friends, but i wish it was somehow more genuine than it is.

I have a few online friends too, but those are quite different.

I had friends but I stopped having them. I also cut ties with all online friends (thankfully that's easier than in real life). Having any ties to anyone became just too much of a burden.

I'd say about 5 that I'm really/genuinely close with and I talk to most of them at least once a day (some know each other).

But saying that, none of them know that I'm planning to CTB, so do they really count as "genuine friends"?

I said one, even though I don't speak with anyone anymore. I have one friend that I kept after starting public school, and the only person I've ever made a deep connection with. We don't talk much since I moved away, but when I can get them on a phone call, we talk for hours, pick right back up like no time at all. Love them.

For real. I'm like you. Had heaps, super social, got sick, peeps can't deal with it. One by one they slowly distanced themselves. Now I've got none. Makes cbt a lot easier.

Would most people see members of their immediate family as friends, especially if you're on good terms with them? Only reason I ask is because some people seem to lump family into a separate category no matter the relationship which they have with them

I had one a long time ago. He was a huge piece of shit. He proposed a suppossed bussines opportunity. It turns put he was trying to commit fraud in his workplace and wanted me to take the risk and blame. I wasn't ok with his ideas. Afterwards, I never spoke to him again. So i jave no friends.
