I've decided to CTB, but i struggle with a method. There is no way i'm getting any gun or meds/chemicals. So i have these options: hanging, cutting and jumping.
Cutting is pretty painless (imo), convenient and peaceful, yet there's a low chance it will be lethal.
For jumping - i have access to a rooftop on a 6-floor building, however, i don't think it's reliable enough, even if i land on my head. There is a little layer of snow on the ground, and also it isn't very convenient.
Hanging isn't peaceful at all, but quite reliable. I wonder what kind of hanging is better - with fall or without it. It will be pretty painful without fall, but i'll get my result. Hanging with fall, however, can kill me immediately, but comes with risk. If rope isn't long enough, that will butcher my face and i don't die immediately. If rope is too long, that will behead me, which i'm not sure how to feel about.
What also bothers me is a SI factor, which will 100% intervene. I'm not sure how to suppress it (alcohol? meds?).
I'll accept any advice and thoughts about my methods. <3

Drop hanging is a very quick and painless death by a way of fracture-dislocation of the upper neck vertebrae, which crushes or severs the spinal cord leading to immediate unconsciousness (within a millisecond). The cause of death with asphyxiation, which occurs whilst comatose. Brain death will occur around 6 minutes due to no oxygen getting to the brain and whole body death within 10-15 minutes. It needs to be a strong rope that doesn't stretch. It's important that the knot is below the jaw to aim throwing the head backwards. The drop distance varies depending on your age, for example if you are 120lbs the drop distance should be 8' 4''. If the drop is too high then it'll decapitate you, leaving a very messy scene for whoever finds you and it won't be pleasant.

Short suspension hanging can be done without the pain and discomfort of the airway becoming blocked. The idea is to have enough pressure from the noose on the right side of the head, just below the jaw, to constrict the carotid artery. Around 8kg of pressure to the carotid artery is enough to constrict it but this weight varies depending on each persons weight. Stopping this blood flow to the brain can cause unconsciousness within 15 seconds or less. And then the same process goes - you will die b brain dead within 6 minutes and complete death within 10-15 mins.

If the airway is constricted, and full suspension achieved (i.e. feet fully off the floor), this method, at least initially, is likely to be very painful, as the person struggles for air against the compression of the noose and against the weight of their own body, being supported entirely by the neck and jaw. 1 to 3 minutes before unconsciousness sets in, with full death within 20 minutes.

People who have survived hanging have described the pain diminishing after a while and seeing bright lights as they drift into unconsciousness.

I hope this answered your question

I found a table about it on Wikipedia in an article about hanging. It was invented in 1910s for executioneers xd. It says that with my weight (90kg) drop distance should be 1,5m. Gonna rely on that

Anyway, that's a very comprehensive answer! Surely, i'd never find some of this info in web. Thank you. Now i just need to find a place to perform, wait until rope arrives and finish my business

When you talk about partial hanging, why do you say that it is necessary to squeeze the right side of the neck? After all, the arteries are on both sides of the neck.

I've practiced partial hanging many times and sometimes I've managed to get close to losing consciousness, but I still want to know all the nuances.

And tell me, please, is it possible that after losing consciousness during partial hanging, a person suddenly regains consciousness himself?

Oh, I have another question, if you don't mind.:
Is it possible that during partial hanging I will have a stroke or heart attack that will make partial hanging painful?
Yes, consciousness is lost within about 20 seconds if everything is done correctly.... But during these 20 seconds, is a painful stroke/heart attack possible?

The right carotid artery delivers oxygen rich blood to the brain, if you close the right carotid artery off then this is what causes you to lose consciousness due to no oxygen in the brain

You can actually make yourself lose consciousness doing it with your hand. If you put your hand across your neck so your thumb and fingers are either side and you can feel a heart beat, if you then squeeze your fingers and thumb you essentially close the artery which can make you go unconscious within 15-30 seconds

Search the internet for some videos. They show that no drop, when propetly done, knocks you out in 3 to 7 seconds.
The lesson, do it right.
Practice a little so you get the knots and placement correct.
Then, when it gets bad enough, step off.

Do we have any threads detailing instant drop hanging? I recall it being incredibly unreliable if done wrong (or right if memory serves?) as well as probably being a real shitty way to go if it doesn't kill you instantly. I mean imagine regular full suspension but you fall farther.

Hanging will knock you out in 5-10 seconds and death will be in 2-3 minutes. Lots of hanging videos out there, this is the time span in all of them. However many people grab onto the rope so it must be a unpleasant way to go out. If the carotids aren't properly compressed, your head and ears will have immense pressure. If properly compressed, it feels good, even euphoric, at least for me. Make sure no one finds you, you don't want to end up comatose and brain-damaged.

Definitely look into partial suspension — I'd read the resource thread! It's very useful and very helpful. I've heard cutting is quite difficult to pull off because you tend to pass out before you can do significant enough damage to bleed out to death, and it can leave some pretty terrible aftereffects if it goes wrong.

Do you have any links to stories of people who have survived full hanging?
