I'm probably gonna sound childish but idc. Im 18, I don't go to school and im not currently working so I have a lot of free time but everyday gets boring af. I have no friends to hang out with, and even if I try to entertain myself with one of my hobbies, it only takes me an hour or two and I get tired of it quickly. I wish i could go somewhere else than the place i live just to pass some time but my mother is too anxious about it and she won't let me. So any suggestions??
I'm sorry about your parents strictness and it kills me because it does more harm. I'm not sure how your mother is but try to do things that can increase her trust in you? I honestly don't know. It's like trying to take out a tooth, I've had to really beg my parents to let me stay over people's houses or just go for a walk, but over time they became less strict because I did it so much. I don't know if she punishes so I don't advise to do stuff if it's harsh.
I would pick up an instrument or like, listening to music. I love having 'concerts' in my room by putting music on the speakers and dancing and singing, I can do it for a long time. Doing art projects keeps me busy too, and that can be anything, I suggest getting into D.I.Y., there's lots of tutorials on youtube, but tiktok and instagram are good too and I feel more diverse. It can be clothes, cardboard, making your own book, literally anything. Maybe you're bored with your hat, so you grab scraps and safety pins and make it look different. I like those because not only it passes time but now I can dress different.
Friends are a really good way to go places though, I don't know how she has been with friends if you've had them before but I would try if there's local stuff happening, to go to those and meet people. I feel with local stuff, that could be more convincing to let you go out, since it's close by. Or if you go out with her sometimes, to try to meet people that way? Like a concert, movie theater, park, something.
Someone mentioned having a pet and maybe if you can get a pet, specifically a dog, you can use that as a way to get out the house, for walks, park trails, dog park and meet people. Someone also mentioned charity stuff and maybe you can join a group that does whatever you're interested in, I've done things like that it's nice.
I get bored fast too or just don't feel like doing something, I think I'd like to do these things all the time but just want something that is fulfilling instead of temporary, you know. I try to have my hobbies correspond with what I want from life at all, example like: read and write alot, because I want to publish stories or work on scripts for shows/film. It makes it have reason and everything connected.
