Hello. My depression and anxiety make me eat a lot suddenly at random moments.

I've been overall controlling it and have lost some solid weight, but it's taking too long because I'm not consistent. My anxiety spikes at night and I get this overwhelming urge to eat a lot, it's almost like a switch.

Interesting because I used to chill a lot at night, and worry during the day.

I've heard that drinking a big glass of water before trying to eat would decrease the craving, as well as being busy with something. The problem is tho, depression makes me lose interest so quickly in whatever I'm doing that I seek food, since food is an instant reward for the brain.

I know some people eat LESS when they a depressed, but I'm the opposite. Any help is welcome. Sorry for the long comment.

Drinking a bunch of water and eating plain popcorn might help when you feel hungry but that's not easy...

Thanks.
This will sound stupid, but even though I like the idea of ctb for the last 7 years, I want to get in a somewhat good shape before I go, so that people can at least say I worked my arse off for something.

Mental issues are a vicious cycle because they make you feel terrible and useless but your mind also won't let you improve or enjoy anything.
