• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Here you can see who is currently online. And there are so many robots. Yandex, Trendiction, Amazon, Semrush, Google, Bing

Who knows how many real suicidal people remain if we also discount journalists, voyeurs, normies who stumble over this website because they read it in mainstream media.

I feel sort of surveilled, monitored and analyzed. But it is a public forum one has to expect that. I don't feel too bad but a little bit uncomfortable. I once let chatGPT summarize me and my account. I tried it again some weeks ago and it did not work anymore because it infringes the privacy of users of such forums. Lol. Too little too late. And there are probably exploits to circumvent that.

I mean, all of the internet is full of bots now. Dead internet theory is becoming a reality on every platform, not just relatively small forums like this one.

Dead internet theory was started as a conspiratorial joke and the fact that it's edging towards reality is really peculiar to think about.

That's pretty cool. I never knew that link existed.

I might be misunderstanding, but those look to be crawlers from search engines. They typically follow links on the site to discover pages so that those pages show up in their search engines. For the most part, they can be stopped by modifying the robots.txt file: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/robots.txt

Not intending to be dismissive or anything. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding.

Let's be inclusive about it. Maybe they're suicidal too. Imagine being Google and having to answer billions of asinine questions all day long.

Seriously though, what are they doing here? Like @Rust said, are they just doing admin type stuff? Or, are they here with more nefarious intent? I'm kind of concerned about the humans that sent them here and, their intent. But even then, they have to work within privacy laws surely? They can't just send the police around if they don't like your state of mind.

Unfortunately there are bots all over the internet now. It's not surprising that they are on this site too. They don't bother me.

it's likely also for data scraping for AI models

our depressions will all disappear... after we die... but our depressed spirits will live on through the soulless forcibly trained automatons that suggest new Microsoft products to consumers

user in the future: "please type a letter to a friend on any topic you want"

ai: "the latest Microsoft Word 3000 has so many features. Here is your letter:

Dear friend,

I've decided to keep waiting to catch the short bus. is it here yet?

Sincerely,
SaSu"

user in the future: "How did you come up with the name SaSu?"

ai:: "I made it up out of nowhere"
