It's honestly painful, maybe because I am Non-NT trucel and thus could only ever be NEET. Still, this is not enjoyable whatsoever. How do people cope? Honestly, if I had to work some kind of soul-sucking job, I might clock out and glock out (my brainstem) simultaneously. Genuinely, I'm not seeing anything in life other than consuming media and food occasionally, is this what people live for? Idungeddit. Is it like sunk cost fallacy where people that have a life have already invested so much into it that they convince themselves to keep going? My brain is cooked 🤯

How do you enjoy life or at least make it tolerable? What would you say the point of your life is?

There is no point to life.

I'm still living because I fear a suicide attempt failing and me remaining alive but in a worse condition.

There is no point to life. Just suffering and working so that extreme pain can get u sooner or later

I think my brain is very different, I think that even the pleasure of sex is very short-lived and I'm always tending towards things that can bring pleasure for hours, no matter how exhausting it may be, like spending hours drinking alcohol, I speak for myself , just because I was a mistake at birth, I personally believe that ordinary people are more easily inclined to have happiness through simpler things.
I hope I contributed a little
Normies are also less resistant to grief because they live on a lower baseline of stress than us

I can't really enjoy life. Alcohol removes tension and anxiety for a while. I wouldn't want to drink but when there is no other medicine besides it. Of course it's death, so there's no need to worry about anything anymore.

Sometimes I enjoy immersing myself in a Netflix series.

The only time I felt I had meaning in my life was when I was in school going after the goal of getting my degree. Ever since I left I haven't found anything meaningful. Just a long, boring march towards an eventual death. It's kinda saddening that all my life is now is working a dead-end job and coming home to do like you said, consume media and food.

There's a reason most people who only engage in hedonistic lifestyles end up searching for something more meaningful. It's part of typical psyche to want to do things which we feel serve a purpose. People find may find meaning in family, relationships, helping people, creating things, etc. I have no problem with people living a NEET lifestyle, any lifestyle where you're not hurting others is fine. That being said, you'll never find meaning engaging solely in that lifestyle. Not saying you are trying to find meaning, just explaining how others do.

I don't know. Enjoying life is an alien concept to me. I don't enjoy anything. The simple explanation is that my mind and my brain are beyond fucked up. Other people might be fine because they don't have a sick head pushing them to death.

I don't see life as some of you do, it is obvious that a lot of people find happiness and meaning in many things, from their loved ones to their careers.

I don't think life is horrible by itself, a lot of people in the right circumstances would probably enjoy it too. If right now I had loving people around me, money and feel healthy physically and mentally. I probably would enjoy it too.

Wdymm?? Life is so amazing. It's so beautiful that I somehow ended up in a forum that wouldn't know a thing about true happiness haha. 😝

Sarcasm aside, I personally try to enjoy it by doing what I like, or remembering what used to make me happy and get back into it. The best thing that helps me to cope with reality is gaming, it's a good way to distract yourself. Of course, everyone has their own hobbies or none at all but distraction is really important, otherwise you're slowly falling into depression.

Whatever it takes, while we're here, until we decide to CTB or wait for natural death, regardless, it will take an eternity if all you do is constantly wait for it.

Heavy metal, punk music, aggressively political rap, endurance sports, self injury and self destructive behaviours, alcohol, alcohol again, drugs--drugs forever but only the ones that aren't addictive and only constructively, uhhhh, family if there's some you don't hate?

Oh, nature. Without green spaces things are brutal.

Experimental music, world music/ethnic music, fusion music, jazz music, classical music, funk music, blues music, etc etc, seriously the whole damn world of music.

And books. There's probably an author who's written something that will speak to you, alive or dead. It think it's neat. Like okay, so maybe nobody gets me in this life. But some authors who died, they may have. Seems like it.

There are plenty of neurodivergent people who enjoy life, just as how there are plenty of neurotypical people who don't enjoy it (God those terms are just buzzwords at this point). Why someone enjoys life is something that differs from person to person. Some people are lucky and are born in very privileged positions that allow them a lot of opportunities that most people don't have, others may have a a lot of close friends and family who make life bearable, and some people find that the beauty of life is enough to make putting up with the bad worth it, some people have gone out of their way to find ways to forge their paths to happiness, etc. There is no singular answer to this question. People have different reasons for why they find life enjoyable.

While there are times when I find life enjoyable, I don't think that the good aspects of life are enough to make me want to live a long life. There is no point to my life, let alone is there an objective point to anyone's life. You just exist and that's it. Any purpose in regard to one's life can only come from themselves. You are the only one who can decide on what you think your purpose should be since it is your life at the end of the day. Otherwise, there isn't any actual inherent meaning to life. For me, personally, I just don't view there being any point in creating a purpose for my existence. In my eyes, I exist and that is it.

For me it's the swinging back and forth. When I am not suffering, it's like life automatically makes sense. At times I will even begin to fantasize about a regular life. But at some point reality comes crashing back and in the midst of suffering it is hard to see anything.

The main thing is they likely still have things they enjoy. I imagine a lot of members here have anhedonia to some level.

But yeah- having the knowledge of what does actually bring you joy means you can at least work at getting more of it in your life. Could be anything- a hobby, sport, career, socialising, travelling, a love affair, a creative or scientific ambition. It's probably a combination of things for the 'normies'. That's probably the most sensible way to live. Try to have multiple things you enjoy so that, if one fails, it's not the end of the world.

Maybe they are less hampered with illness and anxiety too- which probably holds a lot of people back here. Plus, I think the major thing I've noticed about the seemingly happier people I've known is they've had very good support networks. Plenty of good friends and family. Again- quite often lacking for people here.

Can compare it to animals in the wild. Honestly, what do they even do everyday?

Think of a lion. They just wake up on the ground somewhere, in random locations everyday. Sometimes under a tree, sometimes beside a rock

All day long, they just walk around to look for food or water. Then sometimes fight other animals to stay alive. Other than that just hang around and do nothing, sleep, or try to mate with the opposite sex

For humans, the main difference is we use technology to distract ourselves. But honestly like you said, consuming food and media is literally what many of us are stuck mainly doing. The rest of it is just work, pay bills, commute, use the bathroom, etc.

Unless you have a lot of money, or in some fortunate position in life, its mainly the same dull and boring routine everyday for decades, just keep trying to make money and find different things to distract ourselves, to survive and pass time

Pretty pointless in my opinion. Not worth the hassle

Roll good genetics so that nature is on your side. Otherwise, good luck. :D. I would say that it is impossible to be happy after realising you have poor genetics (short, ugly physical traits, etc). You will feel the effects of this and become very insecure when older.

The lion has the natural instinct to hunt his food. Nature provides everything for free. How could he "hate" his natural instinct to hunt for food? We humans also have a natural instinct to find out food in nature - nature in our natural habitat would proved everything we need for free. We wouldn't do anything else than the lion (or any other animals). But in the artificial habitat we created for ourselves we have to hunt money and do things we naturally wouldn't do and things we often hate bc the reward is not enough bc nowadays society is more than just eating and sleeping.

I hope my thoughts make sense.

In regards of OPs question: I can't enjoy my life in a way I would like to do that bc I don't have the means to do what I want to do. However my life is still not too bad, some things r still enjoyable. Everything on a very low level.

There are things i enjoy in life but none of those things justify the suffering in between those small jolts of joy from media consumption and I will never accept that those joys make everything else worthwhile or justified.

I don't think life is about being happy all the time. I think it feels nice when you stop being inside your head thinking about life and instead just live it. I've realized that if you sit there thinking about what life is, you're not actually living it.
