• Hello Guest,

We will not be following or complying with the Online Safety Bill that was recently signed into law in the UK. This bill will not affect the operations of the site, nor do we have a presence in the UK to receive notice or fines that the UK Government may impose.

We would highly recommend that all users from the UK get some sort of VPN, and you should petition your lawmakers to let them know how you feel about this piece of draconian legislation.

You reminded me of this.

Radium paint used on some vintage clocks.

Possible other sources of high-dose radiation include the following:

An accident at a nuclear industrial facility
An attack on a nuclear industrial facility
Detonation of a small radioactive device
Detonation of a conventional explosive device that disperses radioactive material (dirty bomb)
Detonation of a standard nuclear weapon

This is what I'd prefer, it needs to be ionising radiation. Cancer gets to stage 4, you ask not to be treated and eventually end up in palliative care with all the pain relief and no facing consequences of addiction. The end would be in sight so no more worry of how many more years of misery you'll have to endure. No working, just chill and wait. Family will see it as your time to go. Just hope the pain isn't too bad.

Detonation of a standard nuclear weapon

Just order 1pc of standard nuclear weapon. It doesn't even have to be brand.

Just lay outside naked. With some luck, you'll get skin cancer and die in horrible pain.

Other than that, this "method" is as serious as the geniuses who were "seriously considering" ripping their heads off with a rope and a car.

I'd be willing to bet there's a very strong correlation between "creativity"/uniqueness of suicide method (whether it's discussed in PPEH) and lack of seriousness about actually ctb.

On a serious note, how would one get good exposure to ionising radiation?

This does not seem like a logical way to go. Cancer usually takes decades to manifest itself. You will most likely suffer long term horrible affects unless you live somewhere where terminally ill suicide is legal.

Then I can die of natural causes and not break my parents’ heart.

You can break in to your local high school and steal alpha radioactive material. All schools that teach science got this. All you have to do is swallow it, but be warned: your death will be excruciating! It will feel like someone is burning your intestines with a magnifying glass.

Your death will be guaranteed but extremely painfull. Not recommended!

Sure it would at home letting it kill you but would it painful with all the end of life pain medication you'll be given in palliative care?

Hang out with Johnny Torch from the Fantastic Four. He's a superhero with high ctb potential.

Taking this seriously, which is probably a mistake on my part, this is something that can be done, but it isn't trivial.

Smoke detectors have Americium-241 in them, about a microCurie-worth of it. Outside of the body it is not particularly dangerous. Americium-241 is an alpha-emitter. Think of a helium nucleus stripped of its electrons and there you go. Your skin can stop them all day. Where alpha-emitters are dangerous is when they are ingested, or worse yet, inhaled. If that happened in a nuclear power plant or other research facility, you would receive the ole Silkwood Shower, basically a lung flush where they try to wash any radioactive particulates out of your alveoli, whether or not you liked it.

As to how many smoke detectors you would need to accomplish this, I am not entirely sure. My nuke classes were long ago and there are different lethality profiles depending on how you measure the radiation: curies, sieverts, REMs, becquerels, rads, and so on. You would have to do, you know, actual research and work.

Some clearifications (if needed): In all high schools they got samples of ionising radiation. They got alpha-, beta- and gamma-radiation. It's the alpha sample which is of interest, not the beta or gamma!

Alpha-radiation is the most intense and deadliest, but it's also the radiation with the shortest range. You need to put the alpha-source close to your body, preferably inside your body. That's why i recommended swallowing it. Remember a piece of paper could be enough to stop alpha-radiation!

The alpha radiation source they got in your high school is always very small, and if I remember correctly it's small enough to swallow. But no matter how small it is, it's deadly if you swallow it! That's the good news!

But the bad news is that your death will be long and painfull. It will take about 2 days (or even longer) and your suffering will be legendary… even in Hell!

2 days!?!

The babuskas of Chernobyl are living in a high radiation zone (with all kinds of health problems) for decades!!

Thanks for replying and your insight to this subject, I was hoping for the trace of radiation to completely disappear, dont want people thinking I've been done by a Russian spy or it to look like I've purposely taken something. Was hoping for cancer diagnosis weeks later and gone too far to save, was also hoping the pain relief in palliative care would see me off with less pain

You don't know how horrible cancer is. The unbearable pain, the horrible filthy smell you will have. Being constantly under watch. Zero privacy, maybe poop in a diaper.

Seriously, this is as good a method of suicide as is ripping the skin off your hands to remove the dirt. How about just washing your hands?

How about actually doing something else. Jump, hang.

If you want it to seem accidental, save a thousand dollars, go on a trip to one of those huge mountains and have a "hiking accident".

Is cancer always painful? I thought that chemotherapy sometimes made it worse (falling hair, increased organ failure).

I've hear many die of cancer and they didn't even know.

My grandparent died of cancer and he didn't noticed it. He died when shitting in the toilet.

I'm open to any suggestions to make this look like an accident and for it to be with minimal suffering. If anyone could come up with such method it would be the holy grail since most don't want family / friends to be devastated with the extra burden suicide carries

I would advise against this method if I were you. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, it can be a horrible way to die. It can also take a very long time. You could end up with a cancer that is chronic, not aggressive at all, and takes decades to develop and progress. You never know. The third thing is, if you change your mind but become terminal, it's too late. I'm pro-choice when it comes to suicide, but I don't want anyone ending up in a situation where they want to live after all but it's too late.
