I've considered adding a profile picture but am not sure what to use. I'm not comfortable doing anything that would give away my identity (so pictures of me or pets, scenery from where I live, etc).

I hadn't really given it much thought before I registered, but it pretty quickly came to me when I chose mine.
Mine is Casey's chat avatar from Night in the Woods (amazing story game, but won't say anything cuz its best played totally blind), from a character who's been missing for years (and presumed dead), but still has his chat logo hovering around long after. His constant "away" messages sorta reflects how I wanna be seen when I'm gone.

I signed up for Reddit to join r/SuicideWatch, but after getting a few stupid, patronizing messages I decided to look for a forum to discuss suicide in a more positive light. My autogenerated nickname was AffectionateDaikon, and since I'm a (former) weeb, I went with it. So my icon is a daikon (radish) :^)

Originally, I had a picture of a shotgun slug, which is a shotgun load. Then I had a picture of birdshot shells. And as of now, a picture of the medulla oblongata with a crosshairs on it meaning it is the place where the bullet must reach to achieve a successful, guaranteed death. In short, my avatar/profile pic is related to my method of choice to ctb.

I chose a dumb Patrick from spongebob cartoon of him throwing a speech bubble that said "no u". Not really sure why, but had seen other cartoon avatars. Then spent a lot of time resizing this animated rose gif. I like roses. Couldn't decide on anything else really.

Apparently octopuses are very intelligent, I do wonder if there is a technologically advanced civilization which consists of octopus like beings...somewhere out in space... hmmmm

If they are waterbound like our octopuses then their civilization would've probably have started of under water. If they were enough technologically advanced I guess they'd at some point have surfaced into the atmosphere and perhaps even out to space :) Question is it possible to form a civilization under water, and is it possible to become a technologically advanced one under water? Hmmm...

The thing is they're not just intelligent, they're nervous system is organized in a way that's completely different from those of vertebrates.
Most of the neurons that process information are on the arms, and they enjoy a substantial amount of independence from the central node. Basically they have a decentralized mind, which is truly fascinating.
