Because life is only pain and suffering, that is why. Our minds can torture us. Being alive is certainly very awful. I look forward to non existence as only then nothing can hurt me.

Its not pain and suffering for most people. Most people sail through life with no debilitating mind illness. I'd say about 5% of human population suffer unbearably. Most people suffer for 1 day then it gets resolved. We all seam to suffer month after month. Year after year. Decade after Decade. Maybe for all eternity. What's the point of being born too suffer. Makes no sense.

Very accurate reply. Because of this most people fail to see our suffering as valid. So they judge us and get upset at us when we seek ways to CTB. They consider suffering a small inconvenience in their life, since its not as profound as our everyday suffering. I don't think people will ever understand, at least not in my lifetime.

Guess my suicidal thoughts are a response to actual society and how the world functions.

Can you live a life worth dying for?

Stuff like this is a combination of genetics and upbringing. Your genes may make you more prone to certain types of mental illness, but they will only be activated in response to environmental factors, like traumatic events. Once you've developed some type of mental illness, there are risk factors which may make things worse and resilience factors which may make things better in the long run. Resilience factors which may alleviate your symptoms include social support, therapy, medication, exercise, psychoeducation, proper sleep, self-confidence and self-efficacy.

I think some of it is to do with environmental factors. I really feel sorry for kids these days as there's far more pressure on them to succeed financially than ever before.

I think for some it's a constant decay. It started at some point unknown and then just continued to get worse and nothing was ever addressed until the issues became such that there's no way to address them. Or perhaps there never was and it was truly inevitable. Every day gets a bit worse, until the damage built up is too much to be rid of or would take too long to fix to matter.

If a person thinks of what goes into our minds as food, it makes sense minds not being well. We get lied to seems like anywhere. Whether media, religions. Basically the mind has been fed a bunch of crappy food=sick mind

Experiences, trauma, genetics. All plays a big part in how our minds can get worse.

I think stress management as well as the inputs of life (social media, keeping up w Joneses, past negative experiences) can get overwhelming causing the system to break.

The sad part is when it breaks it doesnt seem to be reversible, hence why we are all here.

Doctors just throw nonsense at it (trial and error) therapists having never been unwell themselves think you can just think your way out of it
