  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

What do you define as "proper"? I always see these notes as more personal and for you. You can put in it whatever you want. If you have words you can't say or a history that will never be known, you can put that in it if you wish. In the end I'm somewhat of the mindset that people will take things as they take them regardless of a note. I don't think it hurts to write our your reasons, if you want them known, or even something about not letting anyone else blame themselves for what happens. There's no guarantee what anyone else will do or think since it's out of our control. So again I think it's up to you and what you want in there.

A good starting place could be just noting down what you want and then organize and write it out after you know what all you want to cover. Best wishes whatever you decide to do.

In my case, my note will be to give those left behind some closure and it will mean that they are not left with unanswered questions. I plan to keep it quite simple and say things like there is nothing that you could have done, and now I am at peace. I think I would just write down the main points that I want to say whenever I think of something. I wish you the best in whatever happens.

You don't have to write much, instead maybe leave some poems or list some music you love?
I've picked Ode on melancholy by John Keats & the song Covered By Roses by Within Temptation which also has lines of the poem within the song.

I guess think of your goals for the note, then write a paragraph for each goal. What do you hope to accomplish?

For instance, do you want certain people to know how much you love and appreciate them? How much you hate them? Do you want to explain what brought you to this decision? Do you want to request certain things happen after your death—let certain people know, donate your stuff to a special organization, etc?
