Whether it be mental or physical- health is wealth. Do you all believe this? I cannot believe how much time I spent complaining about not having money or material possessions. I'm not here to convince anyone of anything, but imo if you are able bodied things can always get A LOT worse. Once you lose your physical health- that's it man. I am sitting here about to impulsively hang myself with a suit tie. Sorry to everyone who is in poor mental or physical health- I wish things were different for us all.

I firmly believe that health is paramount and it's a privilege we inevitably take for granted until shit hits the fan and it's too late to appreciate. Money is invariably nice but I'd take being poor and healthy over being rich and ill any day.

Of course! Health is wealth.
90% of the book I have read during years are about health. And they're hundreds.
And more important than health is youth.

Exactly. I am still in my 'prime' yet my 89 year old grandfather gets around better than I do. I just don't see why people with ill health stick around for so many years and years.

Maybe they are too optimistic thinking about one day they will be healed from all the diseases. Who knows...
Or they are afraid to death.

Anyway, one of the subjects I have spent several years is about reading all the possible about health. It's one of the best things anyone can do.

I definitely can see how that is useful. I was a health freak at one time- always lifting weights, exercising, and playing sports. Heck, when the pandemic first started I took up running- then I had an accident.

Are you in poor health now or just older?

Not poor health, not older. I'm ok.

What kind of accident did you have?

A doctor hit my spine with a needle during a lumbar puncture damaging my nerves to my bladder, bowel, and causing extreme pain. It also inflamed my CNS and as a result my body has gone haywire. I was about to start law school at a great school on a scholarship and I was actually liking life- now this. The damage is permanent according to doctors.

Everything can change in a fraction of a second, can't it?

I feel bad after reading that.
I understand you that when you feel things are going ok, then... something bad happens and you feel bad again.

Unfortunately, yes, and what's even more unfortunate is that tragedy and pain have nothing to do with justice or fairness.

Also, it's funny how people always think bad things and accidents are things that happen to other people and not themselves...

I think huge changes are the ones that happens in a fraction of time. A decission, an action, etc...
All the great things in my life have happened in just seconds: choosing the wrong option, meeting someone that you shouldn't, etc...

Yep, life is so chaotic, you really gotta hold on to the good times while you can.

For that reason it's very good to learn about astrology. Sometimes there is the explanation to your good and bad times.

Astrology is an interesting concept. I really don't know much about it in depth. Somehow I just think everything is random at this point. I used to believe in purpose and direction- not so much anymore. I may read up on it though. Honestly, the only reason I am still here is because of that voice in the back of my head that says maybe there is an explanation after all...

We don't appreciate them while we're living them. Like it says in the song, "those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end..."

You only appreciate that when you lost that. But when you lost the thing it's maybe too late.

There are just a few of good astrologers out there. But it seems it works. Some astrologers said that in this years it will be a big crisis and even a french one said about a possible pandemic. But you find one good and 500 that are not good. But it seems to work. It was used by Napoleon, JP Morgan , etc... but it's not easy to be good at it.

Health is wealth and where I live (US) it's impossible to get any help without paying insane costs. Insurance doesn't cover everything and I have no insurance anyway. I wish I could afford to treat some of my physical issues. My mental issues are a lost cause. It's terrible and ironic in this country i can get tons of stuff to ctb with but not one ounce of help without going in debt.

I consider mental health to be of the absolute most importance, since it sets the bar for what is good and what isn't. It can mean the difference between being happy with absolutely nothing and being miserable with anything and everything. That's what I've concluded after seeing how varied people's responses can be to what seem to be the same situations, and I believe mental health is ultimately what decides this difference. Although it is a vague and broad term, but that's just the nature of our understanding of the human mind so far.

Yeah I am in the US too. The hospital that injured me had the nerve to charge me 7k for my visit! It'll be a cold day in hell before that ever gets paid. Sucks you are dealing with both physical and mental issues too...I hope for the the best for you and that somehow you pull through.

To TheAntidote87....We hear you loud and clear....and it is very true!!! Bad enough having problems with one or the other but when you get older (I am 68 now) and the body you relied on when your anxiety was bad goes...I imagine it actually sends many people to this site.

I managed everything the world threw at me until I lost my health.
Then I lost my job, my car, my home, my friendships, my sleep, almost lost my family and pretty much lost my mind too.
Health is a foundation upon which everything else stands, as I found out. Lose it, and without a good support network or balls of steel (one or the other) then everything will crumble like a house of cards.

I don't think that health alone is everything, but it is a big deal for sure. To lose health is to lose the ability to take control of your life depending on what conditions you have and what situation you're in. I don't doubt that health is important for mental well-being.

This is So true! This is why I will ctb because my health is complicated and ruined. It will never be what it was no matter how hard I work. Once you get older it will only get worse. Which means Suffering with a capital S! There are other things that are important as well but without the health, then you can't make the money you need to live. Then you are also dependent , potential slave, depressed, etc. Whether it's mental or physical both affect your mind and hyjack it. Next thing you know you hang out on a suicide website. One day receive your SN or whatever and then pull the trigger and hope for peace. This is real!

Totally agree. I've always been suicidal but it's only when I started having chronic pain did I realize there were other ways before.
