She had a memoir published just this May. Cause of death is being investigated a statement just was released. Very sad. She endured much in her short life. May she find peace.

Hayden Panettiere: US actress and star of Heroes dies aged 36

Panettiere starred in TV shows including Heroes and Nashville along with films Remember the Titans and Raising Helen.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden," her father, Skip Panettiere, said in a statement to the BBC and other media.

"She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen."

The details surrounding her death were not immediately available.

Panettiere played a cheerleader with superpowers in Heroes and had other memorable roles, including in films Remember the Titans and Raising Helen.

Skip Panettiere has asked for privacy "as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss", in a statement issued through her representative.


Panettiere is survived by her daughter Kaya with her former partner, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
In 2015, after giving birth to her daughter, Panettiere revealed she had entered a treatment facility to help with postpartum depression.
"It's something a lot of women experience," she told US talk show Live With Kelly And Michael in 2015.
"You think it's, 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.' I've never, ever had those feelings. Some women do.
"It's something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal."
In her memoir she wrote about her decision to give full custody to her former partner in 2018.
She told podcaster Jay Shetty in May that "the idea that anyone would think that I would just give away my child and be OK with it is heartbreaking and couldn't be further from the truth".

I woke up this morning and I saw this very sad news. Every day another sad news... I didn't know about her bad mental health but I immediately thought it's probably a suicide (maybe it isn't). They talk about barbiturates on internet but suicide or not, 36 is very young age to die.
I liked this actress (I discovered her in the Malcolm series in 2000). I feel everything is collapsing right now. Damn, what's happening this 2026 year ?? And what's coming next ?? Insane.
RIP. I hope she found a better place

Of course with the way my mind works My first thought was possible suicide. I am seeing online that they are saying it was an od. I really want to hope it was accidental because I know she had a daughter. I just read her book a few months ago. So sad but now she's at peace.

Side note - does anyone else think she and Sabrina Carpenter have a very strong resemblance? From the first minute I saw Sabrina on girl meets world I thought that. Therefore, it makes me think of one every time I see the other. Hayden will definitely live on in my memory.

I had no idea what she was going through...I hope she is resting and has found peace now. Kingdom Hearts was a really important part of my childhood, and Xion is an really important character to me. Death always feels a little more real in times like these...

She struggled with grief after losing her brother. She died from overdose nor suicide.
