No technology at least an hour before bedtime, and physical activity like walking or exercising at daytime helped me. Also no coffeine after 6pm.

Morning sunlight increases melatonin production. Flush (instant release) niacin is cheap and works via several mechanisms. Ashwagandha lowers cortisol if its stress related. Pregnenolone sublingual also helps sleep quality, morning anxiety. How much 'blue' light are you exposed to after sunset? Get some red or orange tinted safety glasses, I'm not kidding. Our body is not wired for artificial light exposure. Listening to audiobooks or similar helps me get to sleep more than anything, avoid anything 'stressful' after sunset. Really look into circadian health stuff, its as important as what you eat.

If it's legal where you live, CBD oil can help you relax and fall asleep more easily. There are some oils that are made specifically to aid sleep problems.

Avoid screens before going to sleep. Pause for at least 15 minutes before going to bed. better 30 min.

Try to meditate on something. Or draw something. Or write in a piece of paper.

Better take small steps and start with 15 minutes.

Create a predictable schedule before you go to bed.
Use your bed only to sleep (or have sex) - do other things elsewhere.
Work out in the morning & get some sunlight.
Darkness at night.

Good sleep is great for recovery. Nothing makes a day shittier than feeling like I underslept.

maintaining a regular sleep schedule, avoiding caffeine and alcohol before bedtime, creating a relaxing sleep environment, and engaging in relaxing activities such as reading or taking a warm bath before sleep. It is also important to limit screen time before bed, as the blue light emitted by electronic devices can interfere with sleep.

My method was always just to stay away until I'm exhausted and need sleep. Having a predictable schedule helps with that. I'm usually tired/exhausted by 12 or 1am, and wake up around 7am. If you avoid sleeping in too much/oversleeping, you'll be awake enough to have your body feel exhausted around the same time every day.

For those times when you need to sleep but still have difficulty actually falling, I'd suggest simply laying down, closing your eyes, and trying to empty your mind. Overthinking will keep you up. Just find a tranquil, balanced state, and try to keep that up until you've passed out.
