Gilgamesh when on the verge of death is very relatable. His intense fear and how deeply he misses his best friend who's gone on before is palpable.

That's how I feel grieving my significant other. His intense fear and how deeply he misses his best friend who's gone on before is palpable.
Off-topic but I love how the earliest religious symbol ("Löwenmensch") as well as the oldest decipherable texts (the Pyramid Texts and the Epic of Gilgamesh) are all in some shape, way or form furry-related.Gilgamesh deeply missed him because they were lovers. He "loved Enkidu like a wife," he "caressed and embraced him". I know I said I'm leaving SS, but I had to make that clear.

I wonder if death is truly that terrible. My vision is crooked so reading is out of the question, but I have seen a Youtube video or two lol
Fascinating how 4ooo years later and we are still unable to fully cope with mortality.
What about audio books? My vision is crooked so reading is out of the question, but I have seen a Youtube video or two lol

Before the War on Men, male friendships were like Frodo and Sam and Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Now such friendships are considered "gay."Gilgamesh deeply missed him because they were lovers. Yeah, I've read LoTR a couple times. Frodo and Sam were like brothers, maybe even closer due to what they faced. They loved each other for sure, but it wasn't romantic at all. Near the end of RotK, Sam felt pity for Frodo. Are you implying that gay & bi guys aren't "real men"?It's impossible to sanitize the Epic of G & claim that G & E were just best friends. Str8 guys don't lie with their str8 buds the way a man "lies with a woman/wife". Where does it say that Frodo & Sam did that?

If it said that, then he was bi. Rulers need heirs
@Weebster Yeah, 100% if I didn't tell you I was bi, you would think I'm your stereotypical straight guy. I like guns, sport bikes, drive a manual car, am mechanically inclined, think some girls are hot. At the same time, I can't stand being around most straight guys - talking to them is like having my nails removed by pliers.Yes, maybe he was bi. Or maybe he was 100 % gay, yet still able to produce an heir. I've always been completely gay, but I've had sex with a couple of women. Many gays are able to close their eyes & imagine they're screwing another man while they're doing it with a woman. Does that shock you?Does it scare & confuse you that you wouldn't be able to tell I'm gay because I don't act & dress "stereotypically gay"? Not every gay guy acts like RuPaul just like not every str8 guy behaves like a macho douche.
Mesopotamians weren't as uptight about sex as Hebrews/Israelites, so Gilgamesh & Enkidu, two male fictional characters, were allowed to love each other & have gay sex. What's the big deal? That doesn't mean that two str8 guys can't be really close friends without secretly lusting after each other.
My ADHD-PI makes it virtually impossible to focus on audio storytelling. The best I could do is read along but I find it tiresome to follow another's pace. What about audio books?
It's interesting to see masc jock labor type guys here. I always thought this site was for incompetent misfits like me, but I guess many different types of people suffer despite how easily they may fit into society!@Weebster Yeah, 100% if I didn't tell you I was bi, you would think I'm your stereotypical straight guy. One cool thing is you can speed up or slow down the speed of the narration. One friend likes 125%. It makes a huge difference in pacing - even boring books are tolerable at this speed. My ADHD-PI makes it virtually impossible to focus on audio storytelling.
