Haven't heard that name since 11th grade World Lit. I remember more about Gilgamesh trying to become immortal only to fall short before realizing his greatest achievement: The Walls of Uruk is what will immortalize him long after he passes. Granted this is my line of thinking from way back then not today when I would probably focus more on the death aspects of the story.

Off-topic but I love how the earliest religious symbol ("Löwenmensch") as well as the oldest decipherable texts (the Pyramid Texts and the Epic of Gilgamesh) are all in some shape, way or form furry-related.

Dunno what that says of humanity but it's certainly noteworthy.

Are you implying that gay & bi guys aren't "real men"? It's impossible to sanitize the Epic of G & claim that G & E were just best friends. Str8 guys don't lie with their str8 buds the way a man "lies with a woman/wife". Where does it say that Frodo & Sam did that?

Yeah, I've read LoTR a couple times. Frodo and Sam were like brothers, maybe even closer due to what they faced. They loved each other for sure, but it wasn't romantic at all. Near the end of RotK, Sam felt pity for Frodo.

Yes, maybe he was bi. Or maybe he was 100 % gay, yet still able to produce an heir. I've always been completely gay, but I've had sex with a couple of women. Many gays are able to close their eyes & imagine they're screwing another man while they're doing it with a woman. Does that shock you? Does it scare & confuse you that you wouldn't be able to tell I'm gay because I don't act & dress "stereotypically gay"? Not every gay guy acts like RuPaul, just like not every str8 guy behaves like a macho douche.

My ADHD-PI makes it virtually impossible to focus on audio storytelling. The best I could do is read along but I find it tiresome to follow another's pace.

It's interesting to see masc jock labor type guys here. I always thought this site was for incompetent misfits like me, but I guess many different types of people suffer despite how easily they may fit into society!

One cool thing is you can speed up or slow down the speed of the narration. One friend likes 125%. It makes a huge difference in pacing - even boring books are tolerable at this speed.

Missed that, I think my bestfriend was a bi, I left him for good, still misses him unconsciously he often appears in my recurring dreams for years eventhough now I have a partner (he knows this story too)
