Has anyone met on the partners thread and ..

Strange one and probably one that wouldn't go reported and I ask for no other reason than curiosity brought on by another post a few months back that was something like "can you imagine if people were arranging to make friends on here instead of ctb partners" or something along them line. Can't even remember who wrote tbh but got me thinking wonder if anyone has met through the partners thread. Met with full intentions to cbt but whilst enjoying their last days together changed mind whether cause got a friend or new partner through it ? I always think that too. Are sick people like magnates ? Put 2 sick together will they make each other better? I pray there's a story like that from this site

Well, It would be beautiful if to was ought to happen , and it's probable that it already happened several times but the community didn't hear from it .... ! Let's cross our fingers that it's gonna be the outcome for the next people on the partners thread.
Although in real life , hopes of recovery when you put two sick people together are pretty slim... it's usually a downwards spiral...

I've made 2 lovely friends here and I haven't been around for too long. I'm always cautious and hesitant with partners, because you just never know... But it would be nice to ctb with someone you care about and are on the same page as you. As for love, I'm already in a relationship so that's out of the question. But I always welcome friendships. I know we're all a bit guarded in a sense because we all know this is temporary and if we get too close to someone and they ctb, that's going to hurt.

Either way, I think it's beautiful that people can find hope and the will to recover on this forum due to others.

I met someone here, and he still CTB. It is odd. People here know about us. People in the outside world didn't. I couldn't say where we met.

When he died I posted a tribute to him on my Facebook. Said a 'friend' committed suicide. I knew about it, and didn't stop him or get him help.

I said it was the right thing for him, and sometimes suicide is the answer.

Interesting. Not one person tried to pro life me. Not one. Lots of we understand and condolences.

Could be because I work with a lot of open minded people, despite the particular field being prone to suicide.

I met a lovely guy in Nashville several months ago. It was weird... we had never met before and have very different backgrounds, but we felt completely comfortable with each other because of this one commonality.

I'd be willing to put something together in Florida if anyone wanted to meet. Just low key, private and obviously not letting others know how we all met.

Love is supposed to be a never ending circle, in our cases, suicidal ideation is our never ending circle. If we merged circles we would have an infinity... wether alive or dead it would be infinite.. in theory... *soppy moment* *leaking depression*

I enjoy your contributions here immensely, like most others. IIRC read you used to be a LCSW... do you mind sharing what type of field you're in now?

Thank you. I was a social worker until I got sick from 9/11. I am now in the entertainment field
