My support wasn't strong enough. I used christmas lights and wrapped them around a wardrobe I thought was heavy and solid enough. I fainted by mistake when testing it out, and woke up later with everything fallen on me.

I didn't even intend to CTB at the moment, I was testing if it pressed my carotids and it did, but I fell faint really quickly.

i heard the front door open and didnt want to risk my mum walking in on me too quick. she came in 10 minutes later, so i got lucky that i got off in time.
it felt like a really bad headache. the window handle was creaking and i doubt it would hold up my weight long enough for it to work anyway (i only weigh 66-68kgs but i thrash a lot).

I didn't account for my weight being too much for the rope I chose, on top of not really having anything sturdy/solid to hang from really. It hasn't really affected me too much outside of some minor windpipe bruising at the time.

That would've made quite the statement if it had worked and you had been found after...especially if the lights were on and blinking. :blarg:

I didn't exactly "fail" fail - but I got extremely close to attempting full suspension hanging once.
I got off from work. Took my rope with me. Made the noose, threw it around a branch I could climb up to and secured the other end of the rope to the ground.
I had the noose around my neck and was hanging / holding onto the branch above me. If I had let go I would probably be dead now. But I couldn't, the distress of going through with hanging yourself is absolutely bonkers. I ended up pulling myself back up lol, it was pretty awkward.

Do you think you would have CTB if your support was strong enough? Also, what kind of knot did you use? And where was your ligature place around your neck? Hopefully this doesn't come off as insensitive. I'm want to CTB some time soon and need to get it right.

How did you end up in the ICU? Also, sorry that that happened.

I passed out from a test rather easily - it felt like 5 seconds although I'm sure it was probably longer since I don't remember actually going unconscious. I had thrown the rope over my door and simply held it there by pushing against it. I don't know how long I was passed out for but when I first woke up, I didn't know where I was and was vaguely aware of what was happening. I just remember desperately trying to loosen the noose. For the side effects, my vision was pretty messed up, the right side of my face felt "droopy", I had urinated and my right eye turned red. These effects completely went away in about an hour aside from the red eye. It was not painful nor uncomfortable at any point.

I've tried multiple times but my rope was never adequately supported and I never really came close to passing out. Not like I didn't try, though.

I tried partial hanging like a month ago. The feeling is so weird that I bailed on the attempt. I'd say make sure that you have the willpower to go through with it.

I was teenage and didn't know how to do it properly. So I creates a nose out of a long beach towel. It wa solid enough that I blacked out but found myself on the ground when I came too. The noose had come undone.

No more rookie mistake. Something I'd share if I could
