Yes, many times. South America, Europe, Africa, Asia. You're right--we're always waiting to greet ourselves wherever we go. My last attempt at living abroad taught me what I always knew--that I am the problem. I'm not meant for living. Hope your attempts turn out much better.I want to go to Guatemala and start a new life, but I know id just be running from myself.

When I was working, I decided to live in Japan and was there for three-years. It didn't work for me, but everything was there - I had enough money to be comfortable, learning a new language, the excitement, I could see and feel the genuine possibility for real change. It just didn't take as well as I'd hoped. At the same time, Guatemala's not exactly the definition of stress the way a career in Japan is. Obviously it could be simpler, more peaceful. Check it out, if things don't work out? South America's a beautiful place to pass in.I want to go to Guatemala and start a new life, but I know id just be running from myself.

Why not just get a passport ? It's going to be cheaper than paying someone to smuggle you this way .This would of really been appealing to me a few years back but do not have a passport. Can some one get into trouble trying to leave the UK across the Chanel say in a caravan. Once across you could just disappear.
Not like you'd have much of a choice after completely obliterating your body by doing those "work all the time" jobs.and not work too hard .
I've wanted to live in Japan before, but teaching English wouldn't be an option for someone with a (usually mild) speech impediment, and there's really no other means for an American to get by there. When I was working, I decided to live in Japan and was there for three-years.
