I was practising strangling myself this AM (in public, on Psych Ward) and now my neck hurts, but at the time it wasn't too bad, almost a relief actually.

I don't know if I applied enough pressure, as I didn't faint at all. I was trying to find the Carotid artery and not sure if I found it.

Anyone else have experiences to share? What was it like?

If you can apply enough pressure in the first few seconds you will pass out. Once that happens, the rest just happens. Read up on the other threads. There is a lot of experience out there.

It's not great.... One attempt I miscalculated and the rope broke and it was right when I got into the point that SI kicks in. Now my body won't let me... It's AWFUL... You also can't practice... either you are committed or not committed to doing it.

A good reason to do research and make dure you will pass out quickly. All methods done incorrectly cause suffering.

@Worndown how can you guarantee anything with full though cos I thought the rope naturally moves under the jaw and off the carotids. Full suspension was my method before I came on here but it seems like a gamble whether you will hit the carotids or not.

I suggest browsing the internet for video of hangings. People black out in seconds unless they set it up incorrectly. Make sure your setup is good.
Yes, the ligature ends up under the jaw. That does not remove compression on the arteries.
Remember, people have been dieing by this method...forever.
