How thick should the rope be?
What material?

I want to CTB, not panicking and not feeling pain.

I heard that hanging is suitable but how long until I pass out/CTB?

Do I need a stool and a certain height for successfully CTB?

The rope ideally would be one used for docking ships, preferably around 12mm or 10 mm from what I know, if it holds a ship it will hold you, don't use anything too stretchy or elastic
Depending on how it goes you may be conscious for around 2 minutes or just a few seconds, ideally the noose will be placed at the upper neck and the knot at the back of the head, tighten it before stepping off the stool or area
The anchor point should be tested thoroughly, you can do this by setting up the rope and trying to hold onto it and dangle off it or trash it around, use your full weight to make sure it can hold your body
A stool isn't necessary, it can be anything that's higher than the ground, preferably once you step off your feet shouldn't touch the ground

Thank you! Will there be any signs before passing out, like panicking, feeling dizzy etc.?

I'd like to be prepared and know what could happen.

A door handle or the door itself? Wish I could give you actual helpful tips.
I have the same issue and therefore I chose a big tree.

May I say something. While most ppl choose hanging because it's a highly probable way to go. There are other methods that are less violent and more peaceful. May be if you could look into other methods and see if there's any other method that can fit your situation. Hanging disfigures the corpse.

That's depending on the way you pass out I'd say, if it's from carotid compression you would feel light headed and pass out fairly quickly I THINK, if you pass out from lack of air and suffocation it'd be painful and you'd panic probably, when I hung myself a few times (I was dumb and did it incorrectly, keep in mind when done correctly it works almost 100% of the time) I usually suffocated and passed out from that
One time I freaked out and started clawing at my throat and crying trying to get the rope off, but the rest I was calm and just suffocated and took it and passed out, who knows what sorts of damage I gave myself from that, it made my voice a bit scratchy but I'm thankfully not brain damaged hah
So it kind of depends I think
Ideally you pass out from carotid compression before you can freak out about the suffocation <3 but it's not smt you can 100% predict
Hanging is a fairly quick and reliable method thats been the top choice for humans for ages, the biggest block is getting the noose around your head, or even stepping off, unless you're in the right state of mind it'll be very difficult to take that last step
