Hey SS, name's aren't important but it's Alex for those who wish to know. I have been living in torment my whole life, I wish I could say it was anything different. My life has been complicated in ways that I find very difficult to explain so I won't even bother as I'm sure many of you reading may feel the same. We all have our in dividual nightmares we're going through after all. I have been certain on wanting to end my life for a few months now and have been doing research online as to how I may achieve that. I was certain I wanted to attempt hanging but after lots of educating myself on the different ways of hanging (short drop/suspension hanging was the way I wanted to do it), I came to the conclusion that the risk of severe pain and failure was too high for me to be confident in my abilities. Plus, getting caught was a high probability as it would have to be outside in my circumstances. So, I came a cross the perfect way of committing. "The exit bag" which, for those of you who may not know, is a bag, usually plastic, that you use masking tape, duct tape, or similar to attach a flowmeter regulator to the inside which is attached to a helium/nitrogen tank. Then, before putting the bag over your head, you exhale as much breath as possible to prevent C02 from getting in the bag. After you put the bag over your head, you immediately tie the bag with some string so it's airtight, and turn the helium/nitrogen tank on until the bag is filled while not being pressured so it doesn't blow up. I gathered from research that a handful of sleeping pills will ensure you don't wake up in the middle of it in a panic. In my case, I'm using a regular sized tie top black garbage bag as my "exit bag", (if you use said garbage bag, fold the top twice and use duct tape to keep in place so it doesn't have any openings for oxygen to slip through as ANY OXYGEN WILL NOT ONLY HAVE A HIGH RISK OF NOT KILLING YOU BUT WILL HAVE A HIGH RISK OF RESULTING IN BRAIN DAMAGE. I bought a flowmeter regulator with a 6ft hose off of amazon, and a got a 100% helium tank from Canadian tire (where I also got the duct tape and garbage bags) as I live in Canada. Now, with my bag prepped, all I need is to wait for my amazon package to be delivered. Once it is, I will be offing myself the following night in the comfort of my own room. ALSO, for anyone who wants to use this as a way to take their life, it is COMPLETELY painless if done correctly. I'm not exaggerating, look up "Exit bag" or "Suicide bag" on DuckDuckGo.com and it will tell you that it's COMPLETELY PAINLESS. That's why it's better than any other method. You can do it in the comfort of your own home or anywhere else as it is so versatile. As of April 20th 2023, 11:43pm, my package has not even been shipped yet so I should be dead sometime in the next 3 days to a week hopefully. Until then, I will be smoking weed and numbing myself as usual. I may or may not pop back on here before then as well so feel free to comment anything you care to say. I would be happy to read some replies before I board the train to a (hopefully) better place <3

Hi Alex, it sounds like you feel pretty confident about your decision and method. I hope things go smoothly and you get the outcome you desire. An exit bag (using helium) is currently my number one preference to CTB - if you're comfortable and available I have a couple questions:

Which gas will you be using? And where did you manage to obtain the gas canister? (Was it difficult?)

Hi Alex, it sounds like you feel pretty confident about your decision and method. I hope things go smoothly and you get the outcome you desire. An exit bag (using helium) is currently my number one preference to CTB - if you're comfortable and available I have a couple questions:

Which gas will you be using? And where did you manage to obtain the gas canister? (Was it difficult?)

As far as Nitrogen goes, its quite easy to get a filled tank, since its used for Welding, making beer making coffee, some even put it in their tires

The bag shouldn't let oxygen get in if that's what you mean yes, but O2 has to get purged as well as exhaled breath. The way you word it i understand that you intend to tape the bag around your neck, which you shouldn't do. It has to be snug but have enough space to let CO2 get out.

Until ? No, the helium/nitrogen flow shouldn't stop, it has to be constant. You're not supposed to open your cylinder valve and close it when the bag is "filled". I'll say it again: don't tape the bag around your neck. The only thing that will definitely happen if you did is suffocation.

You did your research wrong: The method consists in displacing O2 from your environment, thus depriving your body of oxygen, while flushing away the CO2 you exhale.
The oxygen running out isn't replaced, and your body can't notice because there's no buildup of CO2 in your bloodstream to trigger any self-defense mechanism.
That's why it has (rightfully) the reputation of being the most painless method. There's no discomfort or possibility to notice anything happening.
