Going missing

I feel a strange desire to go missing and CTB somewhere distant or not obvious. I want to erase the clues and wait for people to find me. I might become a famous case, who knows. It just sounds so interesting to go missing. Anyone else ever thought of that?

I wasn't famous. It's just the process. Dones't mean they'll find you though <3

I thought about it, but the amount of work it would take it way too much for me to bother with. My basement is much closer and easier. I would disappear if it meant people forgot about me but going missing tends to bring even more attention and it leaves those behind forever questioning what happened and/or searching for answers. This is the opposite of what I want.

It is an interesting way to go about it if you just want to be alone. You could also avoid a formal funeral this way as your body will most likely never be recovered.

That's already in my plans. Another week or two and I disappear. Really don't care if I'm found or not, as long as I'm already dead.

No. Part of the reason I can't commit suicide is because I saw how my family was after my brother got kidnapped/ran away (he was found). I would have to do it in a place they could find me with a note so questions could be answered and so they can fully know my decision. When my brother ran away he wrote a note that was completely false and not good. I realized notes matter too.

Sometimes, I feel like I should livestream my suicide and do a tear jerking monologue before ending myself. But mostly I feel like I should vanish without a trace.

I am aware of how resource intensive full searches can become if you are deemed a 'high risk' missing person (uk) which puts me off the idea. (Being a burden etc - I already battle with myself about being a waste of resources existing and so don't want to exacerbate that).

You'd be causing more harm than necessary by giving them some hope of you being still alive.

Over 100 people die daily from suicide, you don't see that on the news. I can see the appeal of being famous for a short while, but I think it's unlikely, especially if it's "just a regular person" and not part of some activism.

Yeah it's not because I WANT to be famous. I actually don't. Just that idea of being missing sounds interesting
