It's no wonder if billions of people buy and use the products of a few each day (incl. with their personal data). Pretty sure if 90% of the world population stopped using CompanyXY immediately and would communicate with their friends directly instead of using ComapanyXY then CompanyXY would lose a lot of value instantly and so would the shareholders ...

Yup. And this only gets worth as the Internet becomes increasingly centralized. I wish there were a way to get people more concerned about their privacy
