I am feeling super sad today. I was hoping SN could be a viable method, but on deep reflection I think it's the wrong approach. But I loved thinking there was a reliable way, and now I'm really scared of being stuck in this declining future of mine

Back to trying to find a method that works for a 63 YO female who isn't mechanical. Feeling a little lost

Yeah. Discovering methods helps for a while. I used to be happy just throwing my stuff out. Disconnecting from the world I called it. Made me feel better like I was moving towards my goal.

You mean the process of figuring out a method is helpful? Yeah, something to focus on.

I have to return to hanging. The reason I stopped pursuing it was that finding a suitable place was hard. I'll need to try again, I hope I can figure it out.

Well for me personally working out a method , or plan to CTB when I was actively suicidal really made me feel good. If I wasn't doing something towards that end I was near comatose depressed sure felt like.

Yeah makes sense. I actually am kinda scared of working on this problem. But I'll try to get optimism from your experience

Some methods of course are terrifying. If I thought to deeply about what I was doing I would be scared, but mostly I was just seeking to end the pain, but I also became willing to try some of those terrifying ones as time went on, and the pain grew.

Who knew that mechanics would be the ones with the skills to CTB. That insert gas thing looks pretty slick, but all the tanks and valves and wrenches....beyond me.

What made you change your mind about SN? Do you think it's too unreliable or painful of a method?

I don't think there is a completely painless way to CTB but I think N is the closest thing, and SN is the next best method (provided that it's done properly).

I wouldn't be found for a day or so.
So that would work.
