Given the high amount of people with STDs nowadays, is it even worth it to pursue sex?

I have ocd. Having herpes would be devastating because it can spread to your eyes, hands, and any open cut. Also I'm sure it's unpleasant when the outbreaks appear. You can even get HPV warts in your mouth and then comes the esophageal cancer (rates of which are increasing).

Condoms don't prevent warts or herpes except on the shaft.

I'd say 'no' but I'm pretty abnormal. I had a very strict upbringing- that sex was something sacred and that you don't sleep around. That said- each to their own- so long as you aren't hurting anyone else. Still- the risks also seem huge to me as a woman- getting pregnant, getting a STD, getting your heart broken.

I also have OCD. But I have gynecological condition as well. It breaks my heart I can't have sex and it's one of the reasons I wanna leave this world.
Sex is amazing, given you have a loving (permanent) partner and protection.

Personally I would. It was one of the reasons keeping me alive. I liked it.
But of course, only safe sex.

I think it's worth it as long as you're not sleeping with strangers..I'm super paranoid about that stuff and force the person into a STI test before I even touch them safe to say I've never had anything in my life and no pregnancies either.

It's hard to maintain self control when options arise though. And long term relationships seem more elusive than hookups nowadays. It seems inevitable I'll catch something.

I personally wouldn't be risking it with hook-ups but I find it easy to maintain control when In the back of my head I'm like "but idk if you're clean" and by the time that thought crosses my mind I'm pretty much put off anyway Do you not see yourself in a relationship at all?

I used to think wiser about it but I'm getting older and someday the options remaining won't be desirable to me. I kinda wish I hadnt been so careful when I was college aged because then I couldve gotten it all out of my system. Relationships require a decent income. I'm poor.

Try asking someone that and they'll often say no. People are largely irresponsible nowadays when it comes to sex.
