Do you have anxiety? My doctor is hesitant to prescribe Xanax, but other doctors are more lenient. I have a friend who has it prescribed after other SSRIs failed.

I think it depends from the country you live in.
1st appointment I was prescribed with xanax because I clearly showed signs of social anxiety.
