Does anyone have any advice on SCBA setups for the UK? Also is there any advantage of the SCBA method over the SCUBA method?

I have implemented a silencer for the low pressure whistle alarm which triggers at 50 bar (much after death, but I wanted to silence it anyway):

Just covering (not blocking) the whistle's hole with a wide rubber band is enough.
Can anyone elaborate on how to do this? First time hearing about it and I'm a little concerned about any pets in the area with high pitched noises going off.

I just put a small piece of tape around it on mine and it seemed to do the trick.

I do not think the forum will allow links to items.
But the unit he used is by the major German SCBA manufacturer.

I saw this and thought I'd ask if this could work. Its just a fancy dust mask of sorts. Provides filtered air from behind you via that little black motor looking thing in the picture. Instead of the filter, if a nitrogen tank can be adapted to it. This is less than $120 from a well known online marketplace from the east *cough cough*

Hey, does anyone on here happen to have any sort of experience with Scott e z flo regulator? I purchased a Scott sure seal mask and have the adapter needed for those who have US equipment based set ups but when going to connect the regulator to the adapter it doesn't fit. Here is a picture of the adapter and regulator. I'm wanting to ctb for real not just a fleeting desire so any info helps. ;)

There was a guy here not too long ago who claimed he tested this method and claimed it was painful. Think his name was sadbunny or something.
Hopefully someone can confirm

From what I understand, this vendor is using the same photos for all the listing regardless of the model.
I wrote to the vendor to confirm the connection type for this first stage regulator, but they just won't seem to respond back.
Rigbone can confirm, but i think the model number is 4046190. Its the US version.
Also be aware the mask is a separate purchase. There appears to be 2 models shown. The 'P' variety is the one to use.
The 'RA' is a negative pressure one & screws into the mask.
(PM me if you more questions & for more vendor discussion)
Hey, could you pm me the details on what mask
I think he's just referring to trying out the mask, regulator, and adapter with an oxygen tank, to get used to the setup. I don't think they mean the back harness included.

I doubt many people who did the SCBA setup bothered with the oxygen tank testing. But I guess @pphinquiry found it very helpful, allowing to do practice runs and tweaking the setup.
did you ever manage to find the pressure reducer without having to buy the whole pas lite set up?

Well for the mask, from what I can tell, the manufacturer has different models....one accepts the push in type of LDV (lung demand valve)....then there is another model (RA) that accepts a screw in type of LDV. Most of the LDVs and masks are going to be the plug in type, which I believe is the 'P' variety.

One just has to make sure its the same manufacturer (goes without saying) and then look at the photos of the mask port where the LDV is inserted.

(Recommend to look on the manuf's website for the mask, there is a lot of information about it all that and explains it better than I could.)
The manufacturer makes a variety of different masks as well....turns out there are different standards in the world for scba and some of the masks are made for those standards.

Yes the pressure reducer can be obtained separately. It might be easier to get the entire system....reducer, ldv, hoses, mask etc.
