Happy days.
My plans are now changing big time. My plan was to use Nitrogen combined with the bag. Now because we are near to winter and it's cold I was thinking about taking myself off to a Bothy here in Wales. Enjoying a few days of food and drink and then just going off into the woods a bit drunk and just going to sleep. I'll probably have to wait untill it's freezing mind. Any body else thought to do this. I don't think any one would be at any Bothies over the winter.

I heard that freezing to death is a painful method. But whatever works for you. Hope your plan goes well and you'll find peace.

Freezing to death when you are shitfaced is easier than you believe. You just need to drift off and you'll never wake up again, the alcohol will make you feel warm and fuzzy even while dying of hypothermia.

Huh... really? That honestly doesn't sound like a bad way to go. Feeling all fuzzy and warm and then just drifting off into whatever comes afterwards. I may change my method to this.

Freezing to death sounds unpleasant to me. However I like the sound of dying in a nature location, the woods is my ideal spot. Whatever happens, I wish you the best.

I think you'd have to be extremely extremely drunk and extremely cold for this to work. Doesn't sound like something you could purposely do without any pain

I have been considering hypothermia as a method for YEARS. I've researched and read a lot about it. Yes it's not pleasant in the initial stages because of the excessive shivering and, of course, feeling cold, etc, but after that your body stops shivering and you get sort of delirious and sleepy and if you are drunk/high, it happens even faster and you won't experience (or care about) the unpleasantness. I live in a state where accidental deaths from hypothermia due to either someone being drunk and passing out walking home on a freezing winter night or someone, like an elderly person who gets confused and wanders off, happens a LOT every winter. I have been thinking that I may combine methods: partial hanging and hypothermia. I think that, and in light of the fact I am SO severely underweight and physically frail, will be a pretty assured way to achieve my goal. The thing is if one does this is like every other method: MAKE SURE YOU WON'T BE FOUND. They can do a lot now to save hypothermia victims and the possibility of needing a body part amputated due to frostbite is REAL...and that'd be the last thing I or anyone would want is to fail and end up worse off. Anyway hypothermia is definitely not a bad method imo and it's free and if you live in a region or climate where it gets cold enough (and actually it doesn't even need to get below freezing to accomplish this...) it's an easily accessible way to do it. Like I said I've been considering this as my main plan for years, I've just not ever gotten up the guts yet.

O shit, thanks for the warning. Guess I wont be doing this method in my backyard.

Actually you don't have to be that drunk nor does it need to be extremely cold. Of course, certain aspects of the scenario may make the experience easier or more difficult or faster or not as fast depending on individual factors like weight, overall health, age. For example, last year a man in his 60s wandered away from his nursing home in the late fall and was found a day or so later, passed away from hypothermia. He was thin, and not well, but the temperature had only gotten down into the mid 40s as a low but this man had no coat (he was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt and shoes and a hat). Seems like no method can be guaranteed painless, even a gun. But when you have little resources like money or ability to go out and buy things you may need for a particular method, hypothermia is one of the less awful ways to do it. JMO of course.

I'm not sure if you're joking with me or not (sometimes I can't tell with people, it's one of the reasons I have trouble with social situations) but people around where I live have been found in their driveways or even on their front porches after getting home drunk on a cold night, and either passing out before making it into the house or one case I can recall, the person had lost their housekey and no one else was home so they just sort of curled up into the corner of their front porch and passed away there overnight, and were found the next day.

No, I was being serious. I was forming up a plan to do this in my backyard at night time but... I think I'd rather do this in a forest or something. I definitely do NOT want to be found and become an amputee.

A forest is where I'm thinking too. Would be a beautiful place to go on a clear winter night with everything being so still and quiet, and the stars and moon shining on the snow (if you have snow). Peaceful. And I agree, the farther away from people to do this the better just as an assurance that plans aren't interrupted.

I have considered this myself. The climate isn't bitter where I live but does sometimes get cold enough. I am in a city so would need to find somewhere secluded. I'm not sure how realistic it is.

I remember that a member on here did this 2 years ago and she didn't come back so I assume it worked. If I remember right she said she lived near the Great Lakes.

I hope things worked out as she hoped. Probably a better climate for it than where I am.
