  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I'll try to hang myself tomorrow or maybe even tonight.

I was planning to wait for SN but I don't think I'll be able to after all.

I have had enough.

If you don't hear from me in 36 hours from now then I'm probably gone.

Thank you for everyone on here who has been nice to me <3 and I'm grateful for the general thoughtfulness of ss members.

My only question: does the body make any noise at all during full suspension? And would these noise be strong enough to wake someone up? Given that: the person is in and another room and there's no object around me.

Disclaimer: this is my decision. SS didn't contribute in any way to me chosing to end my life.

I'm sorry it's come to this. May you leave in peace if that is your decision, and get the freedom you deserve, whatever that is.
Your question though: your body will struggle once you're unconscious. That includes convulsions, twitching, trying to grab anything nearby and probably moving around like crazy (as far as it can) trying to get the rope off.
I would definitely try a location, in your own house if you can, that is more distant and quiet, where no one can hear you. I just wouldn't risk it. I've read horrible things of people being found. I am going for the same method, either doing it in a forest or hotel room.

If that's what you want, and it ends your torment here, then I wish you all the best and to have to experience no more suffering than you already have. I hope to have your courage and end it soon as well. Good luck and hopefully peace awaits you.

I've seen a lot of hanging videos: once you're unconscious you can't do complex things such as trying to grab something, free yourself, etc. There will only be convulsions in the form of spontaneous movement of the limbs. But I also saw a few videos where there weren't even convulsions.

That's interesting, because I saw so many case reports where nearby objects had scratch marks with full suspension hanging, that's why I assumed that's what your unconscious body does (since unconsciousness happens in seconds)
I figure maybe in these cases, the rope wasn't placed right and they experienced asphyxia before going unconscious?

There may be panic in those seconds when you are still conscious. But as soon as you lose it (which in most cases happens within 15 seconds), you will no longer be able to fight for life.

To answer your question: yes. Convulsing may occur, and if you have someone nearby it wouldn't be safe. It's recommended to use a safe space where you won't get interrupted for at least 30 minutes after losing consciousness. Do not hang yourself with someone else in the house if you don't want to risk becoming a vegetable. I wouldn't recommend full suspension if you're looking for a peaceful death (it will work great if you're looking for a no-going-back method), but you do you. I have once tried partial suspension, and I passed out within seconds. For some reason, I woke up, still being strangled. I gasped for air very loudly when I woke up and had terrible bruises on my back, which I assume came from the doorknob (standing partial), meaning that I wasn't discrete. Short answer: doing it full suspension probably won't be loud, but it would be risky with someone else in the house.

I wish you a save trip. I'm sorry everything has led up to that way. I hope you find peace

A little tip. That is gonna sound very cruel, but it may make things less painful. Make sure your rope is thick enough (not too thin or i'll only cut in your neck) and maybe even put something soft like a cloth between you and your neck to make it a little more durable.

Thank you for all your messages guys.

tbh, there is no realistic way for me to hang myself without making any noise or someone noticing. There is nowhere for me to lock myself (because my parents know I'm suicidal and removed all the locks and hids all the keys of doors from me).

I simply wanted to try anyway me, because I'm over my fear of ending up a vegetable. I honestly don't care about ending up disabled.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do and what the next hours will be like for me. I feel like I could easily jump in front of a car or do something really stupid. I feel like I want to try even tho my chances of survival are high.

I'm just tired of waiting for the perfect moment or SN. I just want to go.

I understand where you are coming from but you really don't want to end up a vegetable or disabled as you may get trapped and never have the freedom to ctb again.

Please do not commit suicide and please wait. It will allow you to pass more peacefully. Imagine your suffering now, but with no way out for years if not decades. I wouldn't wish that upon most. I'm sorry for your pain, but just find a way to get the subject off your mind for now until you can make an educated decision

I know what it is like when you have had enough of this life, and you cannot take any more. This life can be very cruel to us. I wish you well.
