Is it really possible to hang yourself with a full noose and not lose consciousness? I've come across several posts from people who wrote that they weren't able to lose consciousness.
Is this true? Is it actually possible to survive a proper full noose hanging?

Is it possible to hang with your full weight on the noose without losing consciousness and ultimately fail in your attempt?

I don't believe as long as your rope and your anchor point don't break, and you have nowhere to put your feet, you can only end dying as you will stay suspended by the neck. The problem is you can slowly suffocate.

You will die eventually, though it might end up being from suspension trauma (well, not quite) over a long period as Widow39 says. This is one reason "long-drop" hanging became commonplace as an execution technique.

I'm wondering if it's actually possible to avoid losing consciousness due to asphyxiation when you're hanging in such intense pressure, especially since you can't reach the ground with your feet and your anchor point is secure?

Is it really possible to stay conscious, considering that you did everything right and the rope is pressing against your carotid arteries?

I believe it's possible, I even heard here about such a case and it was even a video circulating in wpd of a Taiwanese twitcher who ended like this.

You will die for sure, but rather than passing out you will slowly strangle to death during minutes. Probably your weight can also be a factor, an heavy guy may have more success chance than a tiny 45kg girl but not only, the rope placement is very important I believe.

If you use a proper knot and cord, anchor capable of handling the load, certainly not - as a hangman's knot is self-tightening but loose by design, any motion while a body is hanging is going to cinch it tighter until it is impinging the arteries. If you botch the knot or use a knot that isn't self-tightening... I've never heard of anyone surviving a hanging without some external factor fouling the attempt, but it's going to be a very unpleasant few minutes.

I see in your threads that you are looking at many different methods. Which one will you use?
