I made "friends" at group therapy. Turns out they were fake. I feel so fucking worthless.

Theres always going to be fake friends ,fareweather friends etc.. thats how life has always been ,the hard part in my opinion is finding true friends who will actually stay by your side even when youre depressed and even when you want to die and who'll try to listen.. most you get is yeah we're here for you n what not and after awhile ,suddenly they need "space" from you or youre just "too negative" to them etc.. or the ones who'll be there when you feel good and then once you feel bad etc or whatever thats it they'll not stick around - thats what you call a fairweather friend.. they stay in the good times but leave when the times go bad.. thats just how it is and Reddit in general bans subs to do with suicide as in pro choice etc.. they probably dont wanna look bad to the outsiders idk..

This site is the only valuable place I found to talk about my problems. Evrywere else it feels so fake even in real world, so yeah it's difficult to find a person or a place were they truly try to listen, help you and not judge you. I lose people from my life when I have my CTB phases because I'm to emotionally dark for them. Or suddenly become quiet.It's difficult for me to maintain a relations on stable level. But I think that it is worth to look for new peoples especialy friends. They give me this tiny sparks of joy during my darkest times. So this is my opinion about making friends.

I agree, there is a lot of that on Reddit.

Also, Reddit is an echo chamber. My son and I have compared it to what happens with the pheromone "Killer Bees" put out, compelling other bees to sting as well. Readers see a majority of UP or DOWN votes and are prejudiced by it, predisposed to follow that trend before even reading the post.

It would be a better site, albiet marginally, if they removed the voting system.

My posts have always been deleted from SuicideWatch. Even when one of them was immensely popular and did nothing but convey the sentiment that, "You should not blame chronically ill people and those in poverty for their problems".

Apparently dismissing the validity of law of attraction is a no no in the eyes of the benevolent "volunteers" who moderate SuicideWatch.

I was also banned from antinatalism subreddit for not being vegan and not wanting to have an argument about veganism- on a subreddit that is meant for people who do not wish to procreate, not a vegan circlejerk forum.

Reddit bans and silences anyone who does not adhere to the zeitgeist of their brand image. Most subreddits meant for chronic illness and mental health support will quietly shut down any suicidal ideation or criticisms of psychiatry.

Saying you don't want to go to therapy anymore or take drugs that aren't helping you is like lighting your prayer beads on fire to the reddit clergy. Posting the same redundant copy and pasted platitudes and hotline numbers is encouraged.

Likewise, you will get banned on pretty much any other subreddit for having a conflicting view that goes against the majority of the userbase on the sub. So for example, saying that having fewer kids decreases climate change will get you banned from certain political subreddits for being "Malthusianist" even though this statement is factually correct and can be backed up by scientific sources.

I have seen the coronavirus subreddit ban people for posting scientific articles they don't like. BMJ, Nature, other prestigious medical journals.. Their ideas don't matter because the users on that subreddit want to be in lockdown forever (because they hate work culture like everyone else and want to stay WFH, not because they actually care about anyone besides virtue signalling for reddit points) and will throw a hissy fit at any data that contradicts what they want to happen.

You cannot have scientific discussions, or any sort of debate anywhere on reddit, because you will just be banned if you don't agree with the mod's views. Try showing a mod of r/psychiatry studies that criticize the monoamine theory behind SSRIs and they will just boot you instantly. The very antithesis of scientific inquiry happening right before your eyes.

Also reddit is a complete monolith of ideas. The average reddit user is a 20-30 year old wealthy/middle class able bodied neoliberal american/canadian man working in the technocratic laptop class, who gushes about how life is beautiful because he stuck his dick in a woman and got her pregnant, and also because he can buy overpriced Funko Pops at the store!

A lot of unpopular opinions can be viewed as advocating for something or other that many find uncomfortable. What's the point of the thread if -- well, I can see something like advocating murder, etc., but suicide? Unpopular opinions wouldn't be if they didn't create unease in some. Otherwise, you know, they'd be popular opinions.

It's true that there are some decent places to hang out on Reddit, but being as old as I am, I've found them difficult to ferret out and in the end, not worth the effort, to me. Also, the threads that are for olders peeps are like ghosts towns. LOL -- Reddit seems mostly for the eh, under 30ish crowd.

You're right though, it's not all intolerant bias, however, enough of it is, in combination with the above, to make it unworth the effort, for me at least.

I agree that genetically inferior people should not be allowed to procreate as they will only place their kids into the bottom of the human society right after the second they were born. I literally got banned from suicide watch for being suicidal and my account permanently suspended,fuck suicide watch and those pro censorship pro life pretentious mods,SS is much better and realistic and actually offers lonely suicidal people actual support and solution s from like minded with the same struggles, there was a post about how this place is neither pro life or pro death but pro choice,which means we are given the means to a life if we choose it and we are given the means to a peaceful end(euthanasia ect.) and ultimately let us make an informed decisions about how we plan to exercise our right to bodily autonomy and right to die,unlike reddit or r suicide watch which will gaslight and Shame you for not wanting be locked up in a psych ward if you don't like shitty therapists who only want your money and give worthless coping mechanisms and pills with horrible side effects
to keep you a moving cog in society with no regards for the suicidals persons wants ,needs or thoughts.I wish the sanctioned sui sub was still up and more places like this existed so we don't have to jump through hoops just to end our suffering which we never asked for in the first place.

Reddit is horrible because it's essentially just a compilation of echo chambers. I once got into an argument in a right-wing sub with other redditors about climate change and Bernie Sanders, to this day I still didn't recover from the negative comment karma LOL.

Reddit is terrible and toxic. I even hate the subreddits of my interests. The problem also is how anyone could interact and attack easily. Yes, there are a lot of cool stuff, art, music, etc and I could be surprised to find some subreddits that deals with an interesting topic but it's not worth it because of how the place is incredibly toxic and not safe.
